Great idea!

Why don't we throw in Cotchin and Martin too. We may then get 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7. Wow!

NOT!!!!!

Great teams are not made by getting all the top draft choices. They are made by a total commitment and selfless pursuit of success with a willingness to sacrifice ones self for the good of the team. To do this you need team spirit. By doing what you have suggested, there wouldn't be any team spirit left at Richmond.

Well at least they would all be hitting their peaks together ;)

Don't want to pay overs picks or player wise for Mundy but surely we shouldn't be shirking if money is an issue. Bag McMahon as much as you want but he's helped us this year, we're actually struggling to make up the minimum 92% or so of the salary cap. Any large contracts we sign with any player, Cotchin, Martin or Mundy are allot be heavily front loaded, i.e. Pay more now, less later. It can't really burn us long term like Fevola at the lions this way. Just as an example, Martin is expected to be paid about $250,000 as a 2nd year player with less money in corresponding years.

Whether you're for or against any player in a trade, the money shouldn't be a factor in your decision. I actually think we have no one on the Veterans list at the moment, such is our youth.

Article in today's AGE:
■ Manager Ricky Nixon has confirmed Richmond midfielder Richard Tambling could be on the move. Tambling has two years remaining on his contract but may be keen on a fresh start.
''They haven't shopped him around but I have asked about the possibility of a trade. We'll see how we go,'' Nixon said yesterday.

I read this today online. I hope Nixon hasn't just taken it upon himself to start all this speculation if Bling and Tigers are happy... I can't stand Nixon at all!!

I don't see the value in trading away Bling, he is at an all time low currency wise. We would be better to wait and see what he can deliver next season after a (hopefully) un-interrupted pre season. Then if he still doesn't deliver we can move him on (for a little less than this yr) and if he does deliver, we win..

If he fails to delivery next year which is more than likely, he will have next to no currency. Especially if there's no injury excuses. It's now (to get something at least semi-decent) or never. Sounds like he asked to be traded though not the other way round.

I bet people holding Telstra 2 shares are thinking the same thing.

if Nixon has said this, tambling's manager, Then reading between the lins it would seem that a club with a premiership window or a new club has made an offer for Tambling to consider moving i mean the ink is still wet on the contract, why wouldnt Nixon do his job before hand and work that out before he signed him to a cheep 2 year deal.

Thanks for being lazy Ricky

So that's now our pick 12, 16 and 20 gone from that draft with pick 4 potentially as well. Not sure whether to laugh or cry.

Yeah not good, but I would rather Hardwick and others sift out the garbage rather than holding on just incase they come good due to being a high draft pick.

Tambling had a medical at the Whitten Oval last friday.

did you see him with your very own eyes, im not having a go at you its just that my mail is that the Dogs are into him big time, Josh hill and the pick for harbrow will need to be used to satisfy us and it would involve a third club. i know we are desperate for a top 20 pick.

No, but I have heard it from a couple of reliable sources.

What would be fair compensation?

Actually that's interesting on Tambling, as you guys are supposedly keen on Sherman too(?). Swans are also keen on Sherman. Lions are keen on Vempwhatsisname as well, so there could be a couple of related deals?
