Was just wondering what we would have to give up to get Shuey. Pick 8 would be more than enough for Shuey IMO. Hooker IMO after 2011 will be worth a first rounder if we were to trade him. His value right now would be a late first rounder due to this draft or second rounder in a normal draft.

I never said anything about giving away pick 8. Zaharakis has hardly shown anything to say he is going to be a gun fot the future. Melksham showed signs but didnt have anything above a solid first year. The other 2 are guns and along with Hooker, i feel we have one to many talls. I personally would like to see Hurley go forward again and play as our power key forward if Hooker was to stay and hold down CHB.
Way to follow the hype.

Has Shuey shown THAT much more, if any more than Zaha, Jetta, Melky, Myers?

Would have to pay huge overs for him.

Wait, am I reading correctly that Brisbane got pick #5 for Jared Brennan?

lol. We should've offered up Winderlich; we could've got a top-5 pick, apparently.

I think you are reading it wrong, picks 5 & 10 were swapped, etc.

Gold Coast:
End of first-round Gold Coast draft compensation selection for losing Jared Brennan, first-round draft selection (No.10) and third-round draft selection (No.48)

Brisbane:
First-round draft selections (Nos. 5 and 25), second-round draft selection (No.27) and Rohan Bewick

My worry is how Hooker responds to being shopped around if he does not get traded. Alot of players in this position move on the next year.

It would be a shame to have him developing nicely to see him leave, or worse, go to Sheedy.

Not sure where to put this.

ST KILDA and Essendon have made an inquiries about dumped West Coast key forward Tony Notte.
Both clubs have considered the No.20 draft pick in 2007, after he struggled at the Eagles, playing only two games in three years.
The 195cm full-forward showed great promise as a contested marking specialist in his final year of WAFL Colts.
But he went backwards at West Coast and was axed for Swan Districts' triumphant grand final side.

Being a hooker I thought he would be used to it.

Given what Richmond gave Carlton for Grigg, I would say there is a fair chance we could actually get something decent for Bachar!

Bloody Richmond.

It seems a really fair trade, IMO; the only thing strange being the trade itself creating draft picks which otherwise didn't exist in order to facilitate itself.
Na, Brisbane traded their compo pick for losing Rischitelli not Brennan, then picked up a compo pick for losing Brennan.

The thing that pisses me off about this is the AFL throwing in another compo pick, that was clearly not available to Brisbane or GC to add currency to this trade. GC should have had to offer up more in the trade, but the AFL are far too keen to see them hold up the premiership cup to allow them to offer up something fair and reasonable for a trade.
