I won't be too annoyed if we keep 24, it would be nice to have a decent(ish) pick in the upcoming draft.

Could pick up a slider.

This is my theory;

Armstrong - Sydney
Johnston - Adelaide
Lisle - Sydney

Sydney pick in the 40s( or later ?) to Hawthorn.

Sydney get Armstrong and Lisle for, effectively, Johnston.

Possibly we send a pick to Sydney as well.

Heard Chanel 10 say that Brisbane wanted pick 12 from Melbourne to help secure Tippett from us.
So maybe they wold have been prepared to offer up pick 8 and a player if they had of secured pick 12.
Doesn't matter any way because by all reports Tippett's not going any where at least this year unless we get a brilliant offer from Brisbane.

I listened to Noble on AA and I must say I am not convinced that there is not something cooking

Yes Noble gave the one word "No" answer however it did not sound convincing to me

IMO Tippet is for sale at the right price and Crazy Voss may just be working on that right price

The thing that makes me think Vossy may get cwazy is that Brown is getting on, Clark is practically gone, and their 2 younger rucks have been busts.

Sure they have some other promising talls, much like us, but they desperately need Tippett, at least as much as what we do.

So what type of deal would desperation bring?

From our end it must include at least 1 high quality player and i would think a very good draft pick sweetener (as we've all been saying all week).

Prob <5% chance of it happening, especially with the delay in the Clark deal.

Sold on all of those going by this week think McKenzie would be the aim, accuracy seems to be a major focus and he is pretty damn accurate. Depends who goes higher Grigg or McKenzie. Think Waldhuter might be a second round chance.

I have a feeling we may have been hoping for the compo pick from Richmond to be packaged up with 24 to GWS for a higher pick but instead had to use Ivan to get Lynch.

Essendon are going after Caddy by the sounds of it and GC were one of the other teams that was reportedly into Jenkins, might make it difficult to get him here now.

I think the Hawks deal will be separate and we will get Johnston for Armstrong and our 2nd Rounder (as has been reported). I think our 1st may be used in another deal (possibly for Howard from the WB's). Johnston has had some injury concerns (foot IIRC) since he was drafted, maybe that is why you are trading him? Seems a strange move from Horse. If Johnston doesn't pass his medical over the weekend then you will probably get to keep him.

With the depatures of Maric and Moran, we need more ruck depth and, from reports, he had an impressive year in the VFL but couldn't get ahead of Hille/Bellchambers/Ryder. Could be a good get; very quick for a player of his size from what I've heard.

Maybe he has attitude issues? I thought he was happy at Sydney and out of our reach. He was the one prospect that I wanted from you guys right from the beginning so I will be stoked if we get him at that price. BTW I know your supporters think that you are getting reamed but keep a eye on Armstrong, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Mattner MKII maybe (in terms of value)? We be excellent for you guys off HBF or the wing. I think he is mates with Goodes as well IIRC.

Theyd have to package Jenkins with a lot to get Caddy .. Who's been reporting on it? Should give you an answer on whether it will go down.

Some Essendon posters seem to think Jenkins + Pick 19 + steak knives might get them close, I don't think it will. GC have no reason to trade Caddy so I can't see him going unless he suddenly demanded a trade.

The usual suspects (Ralphy etc.) have been reporting on Jenkins for a while but Caddy is new, seemed to only come up recently. Haven't heard too much from Emma Quayle so maybe the deal is a no go. All I know is that GC were supposedly keen on Jenkins (I don't know why) as are we. There is an article highlighting Essendon's interest in Caddy on the AFL website.

Not only do they have no need to trade Caddy, I dare say that they have no real need for Jenkins either. Even when they phase Fraser out, they'll be trying guys like Gorringe and Day as second ruckmen in support of Smith.

No Quayle, no sale!

Not sure why they would be keen on Jenkins either. They have some really promising young rucks and I just can't see Essendon having anything of value that GC need.
