Noble said AFC had "quite a bit" still going on but he said some of it would likely come to nothing such is how trade week goes.

I don't think Tippett is going anywhere.

Why do you say that? I can't get over the number of times the Club has said Tippett is NOT for trade. Why do people still think he is? Maybe they read Rooch's fanciful writings. Look at the "facts" that are simply wrong in his articles.

Um did you not read a few pages back where David Noble, AFC employee, made comments that lead to people thinking this.

Still think we should go after Daz Pfeiffer, but I figure he probably would have been part of that deal if we were interested.
I imagine we'll be seeing him in GWS colours next year.

Crouch gets to play league next year, and we get to develop him early. He will be a very strong player when all the other players in next years draft will be 'raw'

If we both those guys :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

I sincerely doubt we can get both.

I would go with Polec, as he has more upside in my opinion, but it would mean us swapping an established AFL key forward for virtually a nobody (albeit a very talented one)...would want more.

Emma Quayle:

not today, have heard adelaide is looking to do something with pick 24 though. not sure what, yet

Hi Macca,

It could also be without Craigy the schackels have been taken off a little bit too!!!

So far nothing is different!

The only thing that changed is that we had a bit of currency to play with. We are still yet to trade anyone who doesnt want to go!

The trade radio boys including Nathan Thompson think this is a great trade for Adelaide.

Thompson thinks that Crouch would be a top 5 player in THIS draft and Brown a 1st rounder between 15 and 25.

He said that you can see that Adelaide has a plan and a direction to where they're going and he likes it!!

You gotta love Sando. He's already changed us from being a conservative club to one that's out there doing it!! :thumbsu:

I think we are undervaluing how important a competent list manager is to a club. This is the first year we have had this position filled.
Dont think it has much to do with Sando.

I don't see how GWS could be helping us now and I think every trade is done on a sigle value, therefore with Gunston we were shafted and I still beleive a little overpaid for the Couch/Brown deal but certainly not unhappy about that one.. The only way we were going to be able to have GWS help us is if they got MD#1 and they didnt so why would they help everyone else out still?

one man - BJ GODDARD wishful thinking I know haha but we can dream

are people forgetting that GC gave up 4 and a middle of first round compo pick (next years 10) for MD1 and ND31

Great get with Crouch!! Happy we got a 1st class player to come. Now lock down Tippett for the next 8 years please. Far greater value to us than a trade!

Well, apparently the aim of the mini draft was to give GWS some trade currency. Did it ever. Pick 4 and Pick 10 coming in.

GWS now have picks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 49, 85. (plus the Davis, Palmer and Ablett compo picks:eek::eek:)

11 of the top 14 picks. I expect they're gonna get a gun or two in, as well as stocking up big time in Nov.

They've got some good players to start with. Being in Canberra they're my 'other' team now, seen them play a few times in the NEAFL. Should be some good footy coming to Manuka.

What are the odds on a GC GWS final within the next decade?

So who might be the ones keen on coming home? Lycett? Polec? Redden (unlikely) Ebert? B Sumner? Ebert? Howard? Russell

Crouch is an incredible player. Almost J.Selwood like. Not quite the same level player but think he will have a similar impact. Very physically mature, ready to go. Big contested ball winner. Speed good. Skill level very good. Has a really complete game. Real leader and likely future captain. Better selection than a Tyson and could easily rival Coniglio/Wingard for another of those early selections. Couldn't see him going past pick 5, this year or next year.
Reminds me of an early career Luke Ball.
Adelaide have done very well to get! Particularly at the price they got him! Luke Brown was a great addition to get in there also. Did exceptionally well with that trade!

High risk/reward strategy. Very exciting for you guys. Much better than the Gunston trade.

I think Crouch would've been pick 4 or 5 in this year's draft if he was eligible, behind Cognilio, Patton and O'Meara and even with Wingard, ahead of Tyson. It seems like they're the only 5 (or 6 if you include Tyson), elite picks this year.

I know Russell has asked for a trade as he's not in Ratten's plans for 22 next year. Doesn't have a desired destination.

Source: J. Russell

We had to get the Gunston deal done so we could put all our effort into the GWS trade. Pick 24 might have been on the table for some time before it came down to the final deal.
I don't think pick 24 will be with us by weeks end, still plenty of shit to go down.
