Emma Quayle on the ball again! ;)

In other talks, Richmond was closer to securing Adelaide ruckman Ivan Maric, with the Crows to receive former first-round draft pick Tom Lynch from St Kilda and the Saints to take the Tigers' pick 37.

Rookie Essendon ruckman Josh Jenkins was undergoing medical testing for Adelaide yesterday, as Mark Seaby was for the Power. The Crows were moving closer to a deal with Sydney for Tony Armstrong. There was speculation the Crows were chasing Swans forward Lewis Johnston.

Lynch is more of a 3rd tall/flanker type. Has been playing as a loose man sorta thing down back in the VFL. Played up forward at level AFL and was absolutely shithouse. There was a thread on the Saints board a few months ago about him where they were calling for his head after he played a shocker.

I think we win in that deal. A young KP player taken at 13 for Maric is a goer.

What would you be prepaired to give up for Goldsack.
I personally think it would be pick 24. Goldsack is a young versatile Backman who has won a premiership. Gunston has played 14 games at just over a goal a game. If Jack is worth pick 24, then GoldsCk is to.

If we get lynch and johnston, we have another 2 KPP
but i thought johnston just signed a new contract.
we might have to give swan a draft pick to sweeten the deal.
3rd rounder for jenkins?? How good is he?? Havent seen him played b4...

Had a good game against North Melbourne early in the year.

Plus he's your token ranga as well!! :thumbsu:

Armstrong + 24 <--> Johnston.

I'd like to see him play CHF which is where is was drafted from as a junior. Strong lead up playing with good hands, could work as a nice tandem with Walker.

- Scratch that, thinking of a different player.

Maybe Armstrong and ours or Hawthorns second rounder.

Looks like Port is getting a pretty sweet deal for Brogans and Cornes from GWS to help them get Ebert....

Like Johnston but didn't he just sign a new deal?

I spoke to my source on Monday about whether Adelaide can get Johnstone, Grundy and Howard.

Apparently the crows were working hard to get Johnstone but Sydney kept saying he wasnt on the table....
Also Howard was very little chance.
Grundy was a 'NO CHANCE'

Looks like sydney have changed their minds.
maybe armstrong and 24 for Johnstone?
Is he a little injury proned though?

Three way trade:
Adelaide - gain tom lynch, loses Maric
Richmond - gain maric, loses pick 37
St Kilda - gain pick 37, loses Tom Lynch

Josh Jenkins in Adelaide for medical
Speculation we are getting Lewis Johnstone back from the Swans

Talk was lynch for armstrong in 3 way.
Maric for lynch seems a little steep. Im shocked saints would accept 37:eek:

I was confident that it would be maric for compo pick which we would on trade for Hooker and Jenkins.

Obviously looks like bigger plans are in place for Johnstone. With armstong a part of it.

Jenkins seems the perfect no 2.
Im confident fans will love him given everything ive seen and heard of him.

Things are coming along nicely.
1 more defender left, possibly a midf type then Tippet issue to resolve.

i reckon pick 24 would be paying overs....johnston hasnt done anything yet...

Missed 09' with a bad foot injury. Played reserves all of 10' I believe. 2 games in 11' for 17 disposals and 1.1 overall. I remember seeing him play, looked alright, but really is only worth something like Armstrong + 35. If we got him, and got him right (heard he was a bit lazy as a junior but that aspect is being ironed out, and is turning into a real Riewoldt type CHF), we'd have an excellent get.

We're dropping Sauce?

And Aidan Riley too.

Had a look at Johnston's highlights video in the champs. Super impressive hands, and lead up capabilities. Kicking is pretty good, fluid motion. Handball is a bit iffy, but that is easier to fix than kicking.

Lynch, Johnston, Tambling.

I hope we don't become the new shelter for draft busts.

Yes, these guys showed alot of great stuff when they were 18 and were rated highly enough to be taken in the first round.

But as we've seen with Bling it's naive to think they'll suddenly fulfill their potential just because they come here.

Don't want either of them.

Lynch and Johnston are KPP so they take longer to develop, not to mention neither of them having been given much opportunity. Tambling is purely a confidence player and has shown glimpses, but his spirit and confidence is completely crushed by the weight of expectation. We'll find out sooner or later if it's beyond repair...
