In all seriousness, if you guys struggled to kick goals in the finals again and just get pipped like last year, would you consider getting the following: (With your time for success slipping away a little.)

And what would you give up. Player for player trade: No low shots.

1. Richo
2. Schulz
3. Meyer

richo - too old
Schultz - maybe 2nd round rick
meyer - want to see more this year before calling it.

Second round pick for Schulz seems under the odds. I would think a pick similar to where he was drafted - 12 to 16 - or a player such a Meeson would be about right.

I'd rather keep and then unleash the Meese rather than trade him away. If he forced our hand, then I'd considering looking into it.

Trade Messe for Cleve Hughes and youve got yourself a deal.

No team in their right mind would pick Richo, even 3 years ago. He's a turnip.

Why are we looking to trade Meesen again?

1. Hes useless..... and 2. Refer to number 1

You just get the feeling hes going anyway, and Cleve is a much better player, not that Richmond will trade him away.

Useless . He was always going to take time, quality ruckman always do. Refer to Hamish McIntosh.

Hard to say. I probably wouldnt bother with Richo too old and Richmond would ask for high picks.

Schulz would be most interesting, probably draft pick somewhere in the vicinity of 15-30 ? Just guessing, but would have to see how he goes this year. Unsure if he's first round material, but I dont see enough of him.

Meyer I havent see enough of, but he had big wraps when he left SA. Probably a bit light for my liking and doesnt seem to warrant a first round pick, but perhaps early second round pick ? I'm just guessing but if he put some weight on and improved consistency, his market value would rise more.

Yeah maybe but currently all of our ruckmen are way ahead of him. yes hes been injured but both Tippett and Maric havent played much footy and theres still more upside to them... IMO

Why are we looking to trade Meesen again? One of the best talents on our list.

Give and get scenario. If we get perceivably better value in return, then why shouldnt we trade him ? Perhaps Meesen may get a lot of game time with Richmond, here he has to battle with Griff and Maric. - win/win scenario it would seem.

Tippett has huge upside, no doubt. But he's more than likely way off playing AFL at the moment. I also think he was recruited as a Key Forward. TBH I've only seen him play in the u/18's before we drafted him and he was playing well up forward.

Meesen was in competition with Ivan for the 2nd ruck spot before this year started. They both got injured and Griffin got thrown in at the deep end. He's performed very well, but he won't make it through more than 11 or so games.

IMO when he's fit again, he'll strongly challenge Maric for the 2nd ruck spot. The way it was intended to be.

He just never seems all that interested when he plays. As CH said he would get a lot better opportunities at Richmond but dont forget this is all hypothetical. The chances of either side agreeing to a Hughes/Messen trade is very unlikely..... seen as Cleve was their only upside on the weekend and we seem to rate Messe so highly.

Doesn't seem many people understand the development cycle of big men.

Hamish McIntosh (who has been a favourite of mine since draft day), who is winning universal praise, was drafted in 2002 with the #9 selection. He has 2 years on Meesen and it wasn't until late last year, Hamish's 4th season on the list, that he started producing on a regular basis.

Meesen has had 2 years on the list, is one of the most talented on our list and yet we want to ship him off?

I understand it bus but I just think this is a better trade. Cleve is exactly the player we need...... a big strong lad who can take good grabs and kick long goals, I am not saying Messe wont do that from the ruck when he does come in but Id rather have Hughes here.

We've got plenty of young KP prospects. Why would we trade our most talented ruckman away?
