Halfway through the, and it's looking like our, footy year: How are we seeing the list? What improvements do you want to see?

To get the ball rolling I propose that we get on the phone To GC's recruiting manager and offer up Cameron the Bruce and an experienced hack who can help the kids for a few years (guess who?) of their choice for their pick 17 (33 should Bruce and said hack have bad endings to the year).

I'd then hope we'd throw pick 17 at Richmond for Mitch Morton

Discuss, add and elaborate.

You're sounding a lot like a pissed off Richmond supporter, if you don't mid me saying. Agree with what you said Wiz except the Bruce bit. If Bruce can play more games like today he could be instrumental in the teams development and also as a ,emtoring role if we should make finals next year. Miller and someone else for a pick sounds good, and so does Mitch Morton. And if we lose Petterd to the GC we better get a damn good draft pick in return.

Be great if we could tempt Jack Riewoldt over....

You mean pick 70 don't you? Your out of mind if you actually firstly think we can get pick 17 for Bruce and then give pick 17 away for a bloke that struggles at Richmond.

Not this Mitch Morton crap again.

Also this thread was made with plenty of good points a few weeks ago. It might be worth just moving this one into that thread, or deleting it, either's good.

Should look for a good back up ruck option first. To back jamar up. Then atleast we could move him down forward more, if need be. If a good forward comes up this year of course we should chase him.

Delisting's

Miller
Juice
Meesen
Johnson
Bell.

Nope you smoke toooooooo much dope.

Martin

Don't think so while Martin's form may warrant it he only really made the switch from basketball to playing footy, just b4 being drafted. Hold no high hopes for him but still learning the game.

Am I alone in thinking we go to Hawthorn with a Rivers for Dowler trade?

196cm KPF who turns 23 in December, it's reasonable IMO anyway and could benefit both clubs.

I was on the trade Rivers to Hawthorn bandwagon last year, and this year has only increased my interest in the idea. It has merit IMO, but Hawthorn are so hard to trade with...

I would have thought it gets even more merit if Campbell Brown heads north.

70 goals in the past 2 years is struggling? Just don't think their coach has his head fully screwed on in a footy sense and wants an absolute clean of any attitudes in that club. Not that I can blame him considering their last 30 years

Never touched the stuff:thumbsu:

Why the hell we re-drafted Newton & Meesen I will never, ever know. They couldn't cut it before, what good would another season make?! Should have just picked up a couple of young blokes or mature blokes from VFL lists; see J Podsiadly, M Barlow or A Silvagni. It's funny how the whole football world sees these draftings as genius but in all honesty there are 20-30 blokes running around in the VFL every week that should be playing AFL. Pods was always going to be a good player and through all of this we have to put up with list-cloggers like Newton and Meesen. Bailey was quite ruthless with hacks when he first started, he should continue the trend. The aforementioned two just can't play and I shudder everytime Newton gets the ball ... pretty much like I did when Godfrey used to be given the footy.

They were still contracted for this year and we didn't want to pay them out, demoting them to mature age rookies was the best decision available.

Wasn't so much as re-drafting it was more of a way to avoid paying them out and getting them off the senior list.

Thanks Dez, actually didn't know that. It'd been bugging me that we hadn't picked up Barlow....

Although we really should have picked up McPhee/Bradshaw in the pre-season draft ahead of MacDonald. Unless there is another reason.....

I've thought this as well. BUT not for Rivers, especially if we can get him in the PSD, ala Mitch Thorp who we passed up.

I personally would kill to have Paul Bevan in our side. Tough player who can play as the back pocket we need.

I find it impossible to get him in the PSD seeing as I doubt Richmond would pass up another KPF to go alongside Riewoldt.

The only differences between Dowler and Thorp are that one has a face that resembles that of Rocky Dennis and the other is an egotistical cripple.

Give me the Rocky Dennis lookalike any day.
