Trades For This Week

My current rookies are:

B: Petrenko [Hill,Dawson]
M: Rich, Otten, Robinson [Ziebell, Anthony]
R: [Spencer, Jacob]
F: [Walker, Brown]

Is that enough cash cows as I have 20 trades? I am thinking of 2 of the following trades:

Dawson to Rance
Anthony to Beams/Zaharakis
Robinson to Beams/Zaharakis
Ziebell to Beams/Zaharakis

The question is whether it is worth using my trades? VERY TOUGH DECISIONS FOR ME TO DECIDE THIS WEEK

I waited and still not sure whether to pick Beams or Zaharakis....

why didn't I get Beams in the first place instead of Anthony (oh I remember Anthony was named for first game and Beams wasn't)

I am thinking about the exact same trade but can't seem to work out if trading rookies like that is a waste when Anthony is only a few weeks away

Bit like the guy on the worst trades thread who said he traded Beams for Robinson after round 1. 2 weeks later and he's no better off but one trade down.

Plus these rookies like Robinson, Cheney, Beams and Zaka are having huge 1st game scores then dropping off. Robbo and Cheney seem likely to be dropped and then what?

I have 8 playing in my midfield so I'm not facing donuts by holding Anthony.

I am holding onto Anthony. I would love to capatilise on Zaharakis this week but i have other rookies playing so feel like i would be wasting a trade here. The only problem is that if Laidley doesnt play Anthony then i will have missed the boat.

Just for the benefit of SC'ers, I've copied my own post to this thread as I think it will be useful:

I'm not 100% but let's do an analysis on trading Anthony to Beams/Zaharakis:

Scenario 1 - No Trades:

Anthony ----> Anthony (now, no trade)
Rich ----> Rookie (Any rookie, but Anthony such as Swift in round 8)

Scenario 2 - Trade to Beams:

Anthony ----> Beams (now)
Rich ----> Anthony (in round 8) - [with flexibility of any rookie if Anthony is not back or not performing]

Analysis:

In both scenarios we have Anthony at the end and $300K from the Rich downgrade, so they negate each other.

Scenario 1 uses an extra trade, so:

1 Trade versus the value difference between Beams and Swift plus the fact that Beams cash is upfront (so basically the difference between when the clock starts moving between Beams and Swift). However, the risk with scenario 1 is that you keep Anthony and if Anthony becomes a lemon you may have waited for no reason (as you keep him either way). In scenario 2, if Anthony becomes a lemon or his injury is longer, then you just jump on board another rookie instead of Anthony. No Trades means you must be certain that Anthony will be back soon and have his NAB cup form. [Trading Beams now gives you the flexibility of not getting Anthony if his injury is longer or underforming]

Wow. I think my analysis could be correct. Now I'm more confused

i was going to trade houli for P.Burgoyne, but seeing as he got himself suspended for 2 weeks, im hoping i can afford drummond, too serious calculator says it will be borderline, if i cant, not sure who i will go with. am going to stick with anthony to save a trade

I'm thinking of something like this.

Robinson >>> Beams
P Burgoyne >>> Drummond/Gilbert

Thinking Drummond would be good but Gilbert gives me 145k to play with. Drummond gives me 56k. Should even consider someone like Sam Fisher who would give me ~30k.

I'm not very fond of using many trades though. Already used two.

Edit - Will probably just go Gilbert + 135k for Burgoyne. Depending on Beams and Zahki.. I'll trade them in next week for Robinson.

There will be 2 clear cut obvious options in that price range that will jump off the screen @ you once round opens. That's of course if you don't already have them... And alot of SCers will be scooping them up.

On that note geez I hate how the players are listed by their averages!

St Specky; keep both Robinson and Burgoyne. Robinson is useful until his price levels out or he get dropped and Burgoyne is averaging 112, why would you want to trade him?

Not sure what to do this week with Luenberger injured. I've got three options:

1) Trade Hill -> Rance, and Luenberger -> Hille

2) Swap Luenberger for Kreuzer

3) Play Jacobs in his place and hope that he can pull out 60's.

Which is the best option?

Swap him for Kreuzer if you want to take one of those three options, or you could get a low score from Jacobs I suppose

The thing with Robinson is, I reckon I can get the same with Beams and gain a handy 60 odd thousand which will come in handy when upgrading. I'll probably just leave it this round and do it next, before Beams goes up in price.

Burgoyne is suspended for 2 matches. I really don't want to have to use Petrenko again after he stuffed me up previously. I would keep him if he was only out for one match though.

Had Masten in my side this week with Rich sitting on the pine cost me 105 points
Would love to get rid of wells and mackie also after 3 bad games from both!
