Fev time!

We are oversupplied with running half backs.
We are under supplied with forwards and midfielders that are pushing for selection

Actually our depth suddenly seems quite low, with Bruce, Murphy, Gilham, Young and Changa gone we lack players that can come in as senior bodies if injuries start to mount. Wonder if we will try to fill this void?

5 we have addressed it somewhat with Lake and Spang, but what about the midfielders?

Why are we eyeing off delisted Dee's players? Bate, Cook, Pettard?

You don't get delisted from the bottom team for no reason..

I guess getting flogged week in week out would kill your spirit and a move to a club with a winning culture maybe a spark they need to reach their full potential....we haven't the spots on the list to pick them up in my mind or the need(maybe Cook as a developing forward everyone is asking for).

Hey Echols....big LIKE (sorry I don't have a like button).......been saying this for ages....'nobody believes me', the future of our small fwds such as wanga and frank depends on a KPF to crumb to instead of Broc a makeshift fwd
Yeah, it's one of those things. People see Rough, Gunston and Bud and say we're all good for forwards, but we have nothing left in the cupboard, as you've seen at Box Hill.

Majority of the time we're left to play Pratt, resting ruckman and crumbers Wang and Frank, as you say.

I'd hope that we look at some leading half forward types, and maybe even a rough edged KPF to sit at Box Hill for a few seasons and learn the craft.

Of course, I still think another mid with Pick 28 will be the best way to go, but I'd hope we don't go anywhere near more tweener sized defenders.

Well, who's to say that the people that make decisions are, but certainly from a supporters perspective, and those who frequent Box Hill, we have literally no forwards in reserve.

Pettard and Bate can both play senior football. While they've both been delisted, there's obviously going to be questions about why their careers have taken such a downward turn, and indeed, if the rumours of players and coaches falling out have had a real bearing on this.

There'll be a number of clubs looking at Pettard and Bate, and wondering if they can get them back up to a god standard of football, because as we've seen, Melbourne is not exactly a shining beacon of development and player growth.

Spencer White.

Spencer White.
Is he flavour of the month?

No idea who he is. I'll be happy with whoever Graham Wright and the boys select. They're more hit than miss.

The next Buddy, apparently. ;)

Agree re Wrightey. I doubt a key forward is on the cards this year though.

I know that I could probably put together a highlight package to make Richard Tambling look like Chris Judd but that video is impressive.

I have seen a fair bit of White as I have done some work down at the Jets and the biggest problem with this kid is his consistency. Some matches he can look absolutely head and shoulders above the rest while others he can look a bit uninterested. Not sure where he would go in the draft but after his good showing at the combine I would think that would push him up the order a fair bit. Also because this draft does have a few good KP prospects, clubs may go for them first and he could slip to our first pick. Then again a club such as the Dogs may take a bit more of a risk and pick him with one of their first two picks as he is a local and they still have there other pick as somewhat of a security.

Personally though I think he is in the 25-35 range so we could be a chance and I wouldn't be against drafting him with our first rounder

Sounds like the Franklin story.

A left footer who doesn't have an arc is good, but a bit worried about that number (36) he wears.

Looks like a buddy franklin who can mark..now thats scary.

Surely wont be around at pick 29

And also looks like a much better kick for goal than Buddy!!!

No offence to all the Buddy fans on here, as im a big fan also.
But as much as a love the big Budd as player, his kicking for goal frustrates me, big time!!

Hawthorn should not have to bottom out.

Finishing bottom and getting early picks guarantees you nothing. Melbourne FC are a great example of this and Bailey Muston Dowler Thorp and Ellis should keep our eyes firmly on the ball.

Sydney Swans have showed us all how you can regenerate your list constantly by identifying players from other clubs and getting them into your system at the right ages.

A Footy season is a marathon. Hard mature bodies are required.

Take a good hard long look at a Jarred Morre type that is available. Can run through the middle has a strong body (think Mcglynn) and can kick a goal and is in the right age bracket to help us over the next 4-5 years.

I think Moore is one we need to look at that could help us out in different areas.

I'm sure Buddy's kicking for goal would look superb if you made a 5 minute of goals that he's kicked and overlooked any behinds.

Which is exactly what they've done with this kid.
