I think we shall get Toy as a FA too.
Why do you think that?

Because we are one of three clubs that has shown interest in him, and seems like he might be sold on us going by the last few days where we came close. I think we played it this way to snare him as a FA.
Put it this way, his choice would be Dogs, Filth and us.
On top of that he's a complete tool. A few people I knew in Brissy knew Lions players socially - and when Sherman played there I hear numerous stories of how hated Sherman was in the playing group. His attitude wouldn't fit our club and he's a spud these days as well as being a soft, lazy player.
I reckon you're right. Port will be pissed. If Jacobs enters the draft I reckon we'll take him with our first pick if he's available.
He has been delisted. We can get him for nothing come November 1st if he wants to come to us.I still think we could pick up Gillies if he's available in the third round or something.
I think Port knocked back 15 from North, so I doubt 28 would have got it done.
That said, if Jacobs now walks, they get doughnuts. I would think Port are hoping to convince him to re-sign.

Yeah i really feel for their supporters -Dawes ,ByrnesMelbourne are SO BAD at this. Just swapped Martin for picks 53 and 76 to Brisbane (or there abouts).
It's like watching Freo from a few years back.
,Rodan looking like the Carlton side of the early 2000's when they had to pick up all the dregs from every other club ,but then the blues had salary cap penalties as an excuse ,i just think the Melbourne recruiters are plain incompetant. Not our problem anyway,I just hope they don't go too badly. He has been delisted. We can get him for nothing come November 1st if he wants to come to us.
North never offered 15, I think Port would have jumped at that. Port released a statement after the trade deadline saying North had offered pick 38+50odd which they rejected in the hope of convincing him to stay.
In - Lake, Spangher, Mr. Anderson.
Out - Gilham, Murphy, Young, Changa, Boumann, Bruce.
So no need to delist anyone?
Fixed.Toy would be another big gamble. From some reports he will never be able to play at AFL intensity due to his condition. An outstanding natural talent who won't be able to reach his potential.
Who do you want us to cut? Or who do you think are likely prospects for this?I am still hoping we cut a few players and get to bring some more new faces into the club.

A random Q, what is the deadline for delisting?

KPP's usually hit their prime at 25-28. He still has a lot of development to do just like Schoenmakers. His foot skills are very good on both feet and i think he would fit in well as a third tall type rather than a KPD. If we can make room for him I don't see why he couldn't come onto our list.I would have thought now that they settled on Spangher as a depth player that Gillies would be surplus to needs. Why are people so interested in him? He had a fairly average year at the Geelong VFL team.
Gillies is 22, has played just 13 games in 4 years but should be coming into his prime. With Scarlett retiring he should be a key for the Geelong defence now but instead the Cats pick a 28 year old in Rivers and let Gillies go. That alone speaks volumes.
I would consider a rookie spot for him but no more than that. I am not overly excited about Spangher and even less so for Gillies. I would be disappointed if we ended up with both on the main list.
