After a two year psychologically-battered self-enforced lay-off, I finally took the plunge today and began my trading career MkII. The thrill of being back in the market is kind of scary, but bloody exciting at the same time. I am taking a very, very easy does it approach - Top 200 FPO shares only, a strict system and an envisaged average 50 day stay in each trade.

I used to trade options over the ASX200 index (XJO) - seat of your pants stuff and the potential for wonderful profits and devastating losses. Unfortunately I ended up on the wrong side of the ledger, and have had a huge amount of difficulty overcoming the gripping fear of being in the market again.

But today I did it - found a stock last night which met my system's requirements, set my stop loss and, with unexpected calm, placed the order which was filled on opening this morning.

It feels good!

And now that I've shared, it feels even better!!

Cheers.

Tell us about your loss/losses a few years back.

Won't say I never will, but I've never touched the share market.

Reason being is it must be so easy to become obsessive and watch what it's doing every day almost. Especially when you cna watch it and trade ion the internet.

Do you really want to spend every day of your life wondering what you are worth and stressing out when you drop $50k in a day?

No, but I also dont wanna be working after I'm 40. The stock market is one of very few options that can help me achieve this.
