Well I diecided to go and see what the vibe is like.
Training started off with a lap around the oval.
Noticed a guy with a knee strap out there.
My goodness it was Hurn.
Will he be running all session . No of course not but the report that he might be back before the bye might be accurate.
Then they (most of them) started doing kick to kick over the entire oval so it was difficult to pick who the players were at certain long distances from me. ( the rest doing stab pass practise)
The intensity was not like a pre season training session but it was still see some good kicking from Shuey.Good to see LeCras out there and his arm with a guard on it.
Good to see Ellis out there and he could run abit , he might be fit for thsi weekend like the report said.
Glass was training really well and it is no wonder he does alot of organising on match days.
Schofield trains like his head is more wooley in comparison to Glass
Then they trained on the picking the ball up on the run skill.
This was followed by the team breaking off into 4 groups. each group worked hard on the skill of bypassing opposition with general CHIPPING movement in fairly tight situations.
The way Hawthorn chip the ball around players to leading players with kicks only 20 meteres long is the best way of describing this drill they were doing.
Hill and Wellingham were doing laps most of the time away from the main group
Good to see LecRAS on his own practising kicking for goal, while
The match simulaiton stuff went to full ground size to finish the training session off.
Kennedy was not involved in thsi as he went practising his kicking and his run up. He seemed to try to kick without his stutter.
Dont know what he was trying to do tghogh.
Overall it was not intense as a pre-season tgraining session but the mood was good and I believe that the game against Carlton will be close.Pity Glass is out because he really organises things.
