Training begins tomorrow however there is nothing on the CFC website stating this.

Due to work it is very difficult for me to get to training however as the office is closed until next week I was very keen to go tomorrow with my new camera. I emailed the club this morning to ask what time it began and received quite a strange reply:

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately we can only advise you of open training advertised times. The official start back for the boys is next week which is why the website does not have a listed time for tomorrow.

Tomorrow’s training will most likely be around 9.30am at Gosch’s Paddock but I cannot confirm this.

Kind Regards

Collingwood Football Club
COLLINGWOOD FOOTBALL CLUB

So tomorrow is obviously not an open training session however in the next paragraph they tell me the likely starting time.

Do the club usually allow fans watching closed training sessions or do they ask people to leave? I only live a short walk from Gosch's Paddock so don't mind giving it a bit of gamble however if there is no use I will finish painting the apartment.

I think you are allowed to watch but I am not Sure if you can use Cameras and That sort of Stuff

That's annoying as one of my lenses is a telescopic one and I would have been able to get some pretty good shots.

Cheers Dave! Are you heading down?

Take it down anyway and take some the Worst they say it tell you to go away or put your Camera Away. Where Pies Stuff and You might get away with it.

Will not head down but I will go down to a few before the Nab Cup - Will Defiantly go to the Intra-Club Match

Confusion over...

You are welcome to watch, however we cannot really give you a confirmed time, that is essentially what a closed session is (just unadvertised) so the football department have a bit more flexibility as to when they choose to head out.

Kind Regards

Collingwood Football Club

I'll head down about 9am and have my fingers crossed. With any luck I'll put up some pictures and a report tomorrow

I think that means it's not a Set Time - EMail the Club about taking some Photo's

the book 'side by side' makes mention of this too.

it says that a lot of training sessions are 'closed' but fans are still welcome, its just to allow more flexibility.

Ok I just got back from training. Firstly I didn't listen to Dave and wasn't wearing any Collingwood gear, I had a long lense SLR around my neck and Huddo came over to me at the start and asked me which club I was from. I told him I was just a fan and that the pictures were just for me. He told me that it was fine and if I was from a club just to come over and say hello.

I asked about the time trial and he said that half of the boys did the 2km trial before the session. He said that they were happy as none of the times had dropped off. I don't know who did what only that Steele came first again and that Beams will do the trial next week with the rest of the boys.

I didn't see any of the older players there such as Presti, O'Bree, Fraser and Tarks however that is expected.

They started with some basic short kicks and handball drills then broke into groups and had what looked to be a five point kicking drill at both ends. They then broke again where players had some goal kicking practise. They then seemed to repeat the drills with simple kicking and handballing drills and then the five point drill.

All up they trained for about an hour however it was quite light which I take was because a lot of the players had just run their time trial.

After training Huddo was working with Jack on his goal kicking. It was quite funny as first of all Jack missed and then Huddo started giving him shit and then kicked one straight through the middle. They then came over to the boundary 50m out just where I was standing. Huddo said to me to take a picture of Jack missing this goal, Jack looked at me and wasn't impressed then proceeded by slotting it straight through the middle. Huddo then said "maybe not" and then hooked one for a point.

The rucks also stayed back a bit and were practising boundary throw ins and ball ups. Was a bit half hearted though with nobody roving the packs.

I've got a hell of a lot of pictures so won't bother putting them all up here as it will take me hours. I will look into putting them up somewhere like Picasa and will try and post a link shortly.

Other things to report was that Cloke didn't train but ran laps with Shae. Rusling was running laps at the start however joined in later. I was quite impressed with Keefe actually, he was hitting targets on both feet. Also noticed that Barham was hitting targets a lot too which was encouraging however he definitely did not speak to Beams once throughout the entire session :o

^^^^

You could put photo's also in Pack and put the on Megaupload or Rapidshare or even as a Torrent after you put them up here

Everyone hates Megaupload/Rapidshare Dave.... :(

Why? would you rather it through Torrents?

I don't feel the need to clog up my hdd space with pictures of the boys training.
One look is enough for me.
