Just a few notes on today. The session ran only for about 1hr from 10:00 till 11:00. Handball drills, kicking, plays up and down the ground etc ... nothing too grueling (no tackling) for the guys as we've got a match on tomorrow. Josh left 20 mins before the end by himself but looked fine running around.

MIA - Bucks, Meds, D1ck, Rusling, Leon, Dawes and maybe Stanley. JA was walking the boundary and looked sad not being in the action.

The only odd bit of training was that Brad Gotch took Travis, Wakes, Goldsack, Broadie, Scottie Burns, Ryan Cook, Ben Davies and Macaffer to the other oval for more handball drills and another time when I looked back they were circling the rugby posts kicking for goals. At the stage MM was taking the rest of the team through plays up and down ground.
After about 20mins MM blew the whistle and Gotch's group came back to the main oval but still stayed amongst themselves for another 15 or so at one end of the ground while MM took the rest to the other end. This time Wakes, Goldsack, Cook and Macaffer put on different coloured tops and acted as defense while Travis rucked against Wakes, tapping down to either scrummers for a shot on goal.

Dales at one point spent 15mins by himself away from the group having shots on goal. He was doing very tight bounday bananas, some left snaps and set 50 metre kicks.

Last bit - Martin Clarke was showing (and teaching) a new trick to Davies, Wellingham, Didak, Gavin Brown and few other staff at the very end of the session. He would run straight at a ball on the ground that was facing vertically to him and without breaking stride would toe chip the ball (ala sandwedge) into his hands and keep on running. I've never seen anything like it and was totally brilliant ...... must be something they do in Gaelic footy.

every1 can see this guy is going to be a complete champion and an exciting player...

Lets hope Clark gets the ball to sit right so he can do it in the AFL

Yeah fair point. Would be embarassing to muck it up on the big stage. Especially when it isn't that much slower to run past and scoop it up with one hand. Having said that, bring on the Martin Clarke highlights reel!

It's done quite often in gaelic football but if you mess it up you will get hammered by your coach for not bending your back and putting your toe under it as you normally would. Always very satisfying when you are running at full tilt and flick it up without breaking stride. Never tried it with a Sherrin though. I'd imagine its much harder.
