Re: Training Reports - 2010 Preseason

Connors promises sooo much, but delivers sooo little !!

this kid is an enigma could be anything but probably will be nothing.
under wallace he was allowed to just do as he liked constantly trying to do the flashy things like always wanting to baulk 5 players before dishing it off or taking the specky.....................drives me crazy everytime i watch him.
rally needs to get his shit together & become either our next nathan brown or our luke hodge type player ...........has enough natural talent.

god if some of these kids get going there could be alot to get excited about.

Re: Training Reports - 2010 Preseason

It would be fair to say that Andy Collins season ending hip injury was very serious considering he is in the rehab group.

Might be a good idea to lay off on the Brownlow bets guys until we see him run out in the NAB Cup and he's fit and well. Andy will need to have at least one full week of training before the home and away starts to get up to Brownlow form. :thumbsu:

Reminds me a lot of a player by the name of Hartigan, could of been anything IMO but ended up a nothing!!

Disagree. Connors' attitude is said to be a big problem. From what I've heard he was an absolute top bloke but couldn't cut it AFL-wise.

Hartigan was better than Connors is now, yes it is Connors attitude from what I have heard. So all in all we have a yet another player with potential but he has a crap attitude. I really think this guy could be aything too but this had better be his last year if his attitude is crap.

Dunno if I quite agree with this... Hartigan was Ok IMO, that's about it.

Connors has natural ability & skill but as has been said, needs his head screwed off & then screwed back on the right way!

We have such a need at our club for skillfull genuine 'game breakers' who have that much quoted "X factor" that any kid that came in under Wallace and co. who had some junior potential but seemed to stall under the non-existent 'development' regime, now needs to be shown some proper tough football love by Hardwick et all.

Then we will really see if they have melons or grapes in their pants!!

My brief to the new football department this off-season would have been to cut the non-talented hacks but keep skilled & talented head-cases.

Re: Training Reports - 2010 Preseason

does anyone know if they are training at punt rd this week?

if so what day(s) and time?

Re: Training Reports - 2010 Preseason

Why have we not been hearing or seeing anything in regards to our training, I mean you hear about the Hawks training and then see there pics on the AFL website but why not us?

Re: Training Reports - 2010 Preseason

Look at Newman's puny legs compared to blokes 6-8 pre-seasons behind him. Look at them compared to Tuck's.

He needs to be flogged.:o :o
He is one of about 5-6 who can hit a target 50+ meters away.....
Tuck is great isnt he? Lucky he wasnt delisted :o
So all we want now is our players to have big legs and can run, to bad if they cant kick.

Some people just naturally can not get big in their legs.
They may be smallish but they get plenty of power when he kicks the thing, a lot more then Tuck for example;)
For somebody who reckons he is really smart, you are pretty dim sometimes.

Re: Training Reports - 2010 Preseason

Looks like Shane Tuck still has some stuff in his right ear. I thought he was going to get that inner ear problem fixed? (Maybe over X'Mas though)

Looks like some pretty standard early, early pre-season work there... though I must say at least Shane Edwards looks like a young man in those photo's rather than a little kid!
(He will never be a massive footballer but has at least matured some more by the looks of it! & yes I do realise that it is only 2 & half months since they last played!)

On another hit and hide mission?

We need AFL fit players who can run out full games at the required intensity.

I'm smart enough to know that kicking (or for that matter, any sport involving striking a ball) is far more about technique and timing than power - you obviously aren't.

One look at Newman's legs and it's bleedingly obvious why he is slow, can't manage to run out even a half of football at the required intensity, and could never break out of the backline.

Tuck kicked the ball just as far as anyone in the AFL back in '05 before we crippled him.

Re: Training Reports - 2010 Preseason

Cos' thin legs really slowed Nahas and Cyril Rioli down...
