Is there footage/audio of Skipworth saying that? Would very much like to hear. I'd love to see Allan come good. I just struggle to imagine that such a high level club wouldn't 'realize' something that significant after so long.

No. Just word of mouth - it’s why they had him working on his inside work the last few vfl games and the Syd game solidified it
But if this is the case - about time

I very doubt it’s baby related. Darcy Cameron’s missus is due any day now and you don’t see him missing training.
What the club tells us and what is happening I reckon are two very different things

Would be disappointing to have more distractions. The longer he’s away, the media vultures will start asking questions and speculating again.

So they should ask the questions, it's the role of the media , this Bobby show is an absolute circus .

Hmm he’d be the fumbliest inside mid to ever play. I’m not sure this is a win other than potentially fattening for market.

I hope Ed develops but I wouldn't assume the coaches are stupid for playing him out of position.

At McDonalds, if someone doesn't do a great job on the burger flipping I imagine they're more likely to let them go rather than promote to CEO to find them a role. (Even Naicos started out flipping burgers on the flanks before moving up to CBA.)

At a guess, Ed's scoreboard impact & involvements is near lowest in the team and in the league for midfielders. It's an area where Lipinski, Gus, Ned Long etc contribute more consistently. Inside-mid or bust is not a great proposition.

So in American terms Ed is “Johnny no stars”

They've been playing him mid for 3 years at VFL. I don't think it's realising something. More just that they've been hoping he'd click on the wing whilst he's still developing into an AFL standard mid. He's gone up a notch at VFL level this year and might be able to perform to an AFL standard in the midfield.
