It definitely does seem odd this one. Maybe he’s confident of Spurs becoming a top 4-5 club in the future, and he’s decided to cash in while he’s still young enough to do it.

TBF United showed this season if you get a good manager in and get 4-5 good hungry signings you can rise quickly.

Now, I have less confidence that Vinai/Lange are good enough to achieve that but we'll see. Hopefully Vinai can hire someone who can do what he got Edu to do.

Why would a player who committed to a 8 and a half year deal expect to renegotiate it after 4 years? It's not like he has set the world on fire or anything.

They all have clauses meaning they dont get paid as much if they arent in UCL. He wanted to renegotiate so his pay doesnt drop, but he wants a bit too much. Plus he still has 6 years left on his contract so theres no need for us to do that.

City or Madrid will have to let us make a book profit on him if they really want him.

Amazing clubman and being a local lad makes it sad to see him go.

But for injuries he'd still probably be in the squad.

Gordon's good, quick, durable and versatile, but I'm still surprised at how many big clubs want him. He'll cost a fair whack too. Which for Bayern, Arsenal or LFC would be as a rotation player, or for Barca perhaps a Lewandowski replacement, but he's not a 9 or even false 9 imo. Moreso someone who can cover there in case of an injury to the main striker. And he hasn't lit the world on fire as a LW.

Gordon definitely starts for Arsenal, but I think we should be aiming higher anyway.

If there's any way we can get Kvaratskhelia to the Emirates, we should be throwing a blank cheque at him.

Kvara's the one I don't want you to get, he's arguably the best LW on the planet right now. Yildiz is the other one that would be class for you guys.

Agree that LW is the position you guys need the most. The market for it is pretty decent at the moment, as I want us to get one to compete with Gakpo and Rio, eventually replacing the former and not putting too much pressure on the latter.

It's also not far from his family in Scotland. It'd be a cooler story than him going to Spuds.
