On "Up Country Punt" Craig Hutchison reported that Travis Cloke was signed on a half million dollar contract.

Apparently Richmond offered a 4 year contract with Travis getting $100,000 guaranteed for the first 3 years and $200,000 in the fourth year guaranteed. In order to get Travis's services Collingwood had to match it.

I'm not sure how true it is although Craig Hutchison is ususally pretty reliable.

What are your thoughts on that?

Who did he say was involved in the Aints rape allegations a couple of months ago? And how much has ch7 paid the player in question?
Reliable, yeah sure.

The figures you quote to be paid to C3 are forbidden under aFL rules for a F/S selection.

Second year 65 G's or what ever it is ( Due to Draft restrictions)
Third year 200 G's
Fourth Year 200 G's

anyway, There is nothing wrong with that. You obviously are either jelous!!!

Collingwood have the money to afford him, Have you ever seen him play (football, not volleyball)??? He looks worth it, and Collingwood had to match or beat Richmond you fool!!!

Jason Dunstull said on the Gospel today that we have signed him up on a 4 year contract worth $500 000. $50 000 in the first two years and $200 000 in the second two years.
 
thats a fair bit of money been thrown around for a young fella who has only ever played in junior ranks and not proven at a senior level just yet

but in saying that i hope he is at collingwood next season, and i hope he is as good as everyone says (ive only seen 5 mins of him on fox footy from national u/18 carnival)
 
yeah well... $125,000 a year is nothing to Collingwood, plus, worth the risk considering Jason said he is the better of the three brothers, plus they did have to match Richmond's deal.

I would think so... It has been on the radio,

He may not have actually dotted the line, because it isn't October, but he has obviously told Collingwood that the deal they offered him was acceptable and will be on Collingwood's senior list.

But I absolutely agree, it hasn't really been made official.

I think that he can or will sign a sort of sub contract saying that when he can offically sign with collingwood in october or when ever he gets drafted that he will for the listed wages and what not.

Did any one else hear the interview on MMM with J,J,and D Cloke. They basically all denied and said that the whole thing was a load of bull dust. That he had not signed or anything. No forms have been lodged and that he was still weighing up his options.
 
Yeh i heard that aswell. I think the media just took it the wrong way and just thought that he would sign with them. Its still a lot of money for a kid that hasnt palyed a game and had a bad carnival but i would ahve him at tigerland just for his kicking and his good build there plenty to work with. If he had signed with collingwood there would be a article about it by now and even mick malthouse said its still up in the air
 
The good news is we have signed the best player since Geoff Hayward. Now if Rowe would fire up and (Shak) the Tank could get serious we'd be in business.
