OK I know i've been starting some below average polls between Melbourne players and Carlton players.

Yes I am guilty of stating the Eddie Betts and Aaron Davey comprision just to see Parrot and his mates stick up for their wonderful players. However I take no responsibilty for the Fevola/Godfrey joke that popped up last week.

How about a true and realistic poll between two players who are elite midfielders for both sides and are barometers.

Both players were high draft picks, only 5 months seperates the two.

Both players debuted in 1998 however Stevens has 209 games while TJ has 167.

Not a bad comparisson. Have gone for Stevens. Must hasve been very hard over the last few years being the first man tagged and tergetted by the opposition. With greater support coming through he may reach the elite midfield level.

Stevens has got heavy tagging attention, and he doesn't deal with it well. His fitness last year was poor also. This preseason, Stevens is the fittest he has ever been, by his own admission, and is now taking on a midfield leadership role. With emerging midfield extreme talents like Murph, Gibbs, Simmo and co, Stevens will attract less of the opposition taggers. Stevens is a pure attacking midfielder - his defensive skills are weak. His strength is the quality of his forwardline delivery which is just elite, and unmatched. :)

Give everyone a worthwhile contribution to the debate, rather than snappy responces.

I know its been a tough few years for the Navy Blues, but please cheer up :)

It's sad to think that we've won a premiership more recently than you have.

And even through our tough year, we still managed to beat you twice!

Truth hurts, doesn't it. Ouch :o

In case someone missed it.... :)

Yes, it must be hard for Stevens to be tergetted.
I better go for Travis then.;)

8-6 boys... in favour of TJ!

Carlton's so called supreme talent just isn't stacking up according to the more educated posters of Big Footy.

If you believe the polls then I feel very very sorry for you.

Although you would take any win over Carlton you can get.

Too bad football's about premierships, not farewell games......Do you reckon the Dees can reach a ton? Now that would be something to brag about!!!!

Travis would be in the afl top 10 midfielders stevens about 20/30 lacks polish and cosistency.
