With Wirra at the end of his career I think this kid could be the perfect replacement.

He has just been added to the WAFL state squad.

He's 20 turning 21 at end of the year.

He plays back pocket for East Perth.

His main weapon is his kicking even under pressure he hits his targets.

Originaly from the NT he is quick and hard at it.

One of the best mature age players I have seen for a while, and would be perfect for us to use as a mature age rookie.

With a AFL preseaon behind him I think he could step up straight away into our side playing on oppositions quick small fowards.

Someone to keep a eye on.

Certainly a player to watch RE, was very good again Monday.

What do you reckon we'd have to use to get him? A pick under 40, a pick over 40 or a rookie listed spot?

I haven't answered, because I'm not sure myself.

Going on Cockie last year I think we could rookie him.

But with his great form and less players too choose from later in the draft this year may make him alot more valuable.

I like him, has definitely impressed this year

Not sure he has the versatility or the range of skills to be genuine AFL long term but then again you never really know until you get them on the list and they have done a pre season.

What he does do is rebound from half back with pace & precision and does it consistently well, could be an asset.

Havent seen him but I think one of S Selwood, Schofield or Smith might have a better prospect for the back half...

Great call Royal Eagle. I saw a lot of Trev play for the Royals in 07, he was a real up and comer back then and was selected for the Territory state squad.

Very good skills, and pacy as well.

I've wondered why no body was interested to be honest:confused:

Very nice young bloke as well...

Well he was East Perth's best again along with Craig Glancy against Swan Districts.

His use of the footy is so good, reminds me of Roger Hayden at times.

Good I hope we rookie him, he would get a game in our current side at the moment, and do well.

yeh he sounds and looks good.

I think with the whole "take the younger kids" theory that most of the other teams have employed like Cockie we could get him with either a late pick or a Rookie spot.
Hopefully the latter.

Summary http://www.w*************.au/players/photos/Oliver-Trevor.jpgDOB: 20th February 1988 Debut: 2007 From: Waratahs NTFL Height: 181 Weight: 81 Number: 12

Only seen him play 1 game v Peel truthfully and didn't really concentrate that much on him but I do remember thinking this guys got a little silk about him, I also thought he was older then he is he has just turned 21 in feb but looks a little older so really wasn't thinking possible draft material.:thumbsu:
Some Stats from this year alone.
He has played 6 games this year and had 120 disposals and 29 marks and 1 goal, so he's avg 20 Pos a game and 5 marks a game and as a back pocket thats very good.
In that game he had 25 dis, 7 marks and kicked a goal.
He played a little midfield time but was was mostly used out of BP opposed Arrow I think.
Here is his profile:

It's what the Eagles need, a small BP. He's a good weight to for a short bloke too. I don't really know anything about him though.
EA, is TO quick? And how well does he dispose of the ball by hand and foot?
If those three things are up to scratch, he may well be worth a look at come the rookie draft or a later pick in the national draft despite his age.
He seems to know how to find the ball. So for a back a BP, it shows he knows where to be and reads the play well enough.

as some of you may know I have done a phantom draft the last 3-4 years and have been a big fan ever since his u18 days. couple of times i have tried to sneak him into the draft as a late bloomer so really terrific to see him coming along.

As a 17/18 yo he was a wonderful user of the pill either down back or thru the middle.

in a weaker draft he would surely be a rookie chance.

If his skills are decent then he sounds like he'd be a good fit. I think we really need to be picking up blokes who have elite skills. I know not everyone who has elite disposal will be available for us but with the way the game is heading we need players who can use the ball very well.

Especially after listening up to half time of todays game.....

His kicking is seriously elite its his main weapon, he has really developed this year.

Would be the best kick in the wafl at the moment never turns it over.

His speed is very good also, it gives him time to use the ball so well.

Just a handy WAFL player, Dellalio got hold of him a couple of weeks ago and he was found wanting. Little Corey lead him on a merry dance up the field and I thought that was a stand out move by Dimmer.

After reading this, I doubt he will get a chance. Perhaps an outside chance at the rookie list.

The promising career of East Perth defender Trevor Oliver was on the line less than a year ago after he received the type of news no footballer wants to hear.
The 21-year-old, from the Northern Territory, was told he should prematurely end his playing days because of an arthritic knee injury that restricted him to just nine games last season.

Oliver’s playing future remains a year-by-year proposition but he said his body now felt like it was almost back to normal.

Great game today and that goal at the end of the fourth quarter was spectacular.
