Was our best player from our innaugral team. From what I've heard he could do so many things others couldn't and was well ahead of his time.

Remember, Jock McHale rated him as the best he'd seen... And he'd seen the Coventry's, Collier's, Regan etc.

What would it hurt to invite his family to the Copeland this year and give him a life membership.

He sounds like a Phil Carman type, more then an Akermanis.

Great story though, written by a true Collingwood fan.:)

I took the spin that he was a bit Buckley-esque in having little patience with his less talented team mates - which in his prime was the entire team.
That was exactly what I thought when I read that sentence does not sound like a Buck,s fan,Buckley is looking like he will be a tremendous coach I was not so keen on the idea at first but it must be admitted he is looking real good as a first year coach who was under extreme pressure a month ago but still had the courage of his convictions.:thumbsu:

Was always happy for Bucks to take over, he has a sharp footy brain and a driving urge to succeed in everything he does - the perfectionist's perfectionist :D
