I think the 'somone' misinterpreted what Trigg said almost 100%.Did anyone hear these comments ( as reported to me by someone who listened )
They were in the vein of '' we wont play anyone who is not committed to the AFC because we dont want a Fergus Watts scenario''
McDermott raised the issue about the delisting of Matthew Clarke and asked if, in hindsight with Maric/Meesen going down injured, the club would have made a different decision. McDermott's logic was along the lines of the premiership window closing, Biglands injury, this may be our last opportunity, what a great tap ruckman he was etc.
Trigg said that he and the club stands by the decision and would happily make it again. He said the danger of keeping a player like Clarke on the list is that you might end up with another Fergus Watts situation, where a young player simply does not get any opportunities at senior level and the years you have invested in them are wasted. He highlighted the fact that if Clarke had remained on the list then we wouldn't have discovered what a talent we have in Jonathan Griffin.

I was saying if you want quality you need to give quality. Do you really think Freo are going to be reasonable about it when it comes to trading Pavlich? I want Pavlich I just don't want us to do anything stupid to get him.
