was anyone listening to JJJ at 6 tonight when Sam Simmonds broke down on air and left the studios? i was thinking it was a joke at the time until after the first batch of songs Scott Dooley came on and announced that he was filling in until they found him.

Very weird incident. Hopefully the blokes ok and returns to the station.

Well his Wiki page has been updated to this

Sam Simmons
is a comedian who was born on March 19, 1977, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. He is now based in Melbourne, Australia.
Sam often has shows in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival performing often at the festival club.
In 2005, a joint show with Dave Callan (also with Tim Harris and Steve Bunce),The Sunshine Factory was nominated for a Gibbo award at the festival.
Sam received a nomination in the 2006 Barry Award, nominated for most outstanding comedy during the Melbourne International comedy festival. The award in honour of Barry Humphries. He was the winner of the best emerging comedy award at the 2006 Adelaide Fringe festival.
Sam performed Sam Simmons and the Sex & Science of Boredom in Adelaide in March 2007 as part of the Fringe Festival.
Sam started at Triple J in 2006 where he works as a disk jockey. He began with presenting the Mid-Dawn shift (1am-6am) during the week.
On January 21, 2007, Sam started his Saturday night / Sunday morning program The Tuck-Shop on Triple J (1am-6am).
Sam has recently been producing skits for the Comedy Channel, for which he has received heavy criticism for being not funny at all. In more recent times Sam has had an ongoing feud with JJJ forum member, alcoholic and sexual deviant Justabrokentoy.a feud which started with Toy's inability to understand that humor is completely subjective.
From December 3, 2007, Sam commenced presenting a summer program called Summer Nights airing weeknights across 5 weeks on Triple J (6pm-9pm). On the 6th of December 2007, he left Triple J in a huff when he became upset about the feedback he had received from the listening public, including, possibly, justabrokentoy.
Luckily, as Scott Dooley pointed out on that very same night, he has since returned to his first love of Funny Car racing. Sam can now be seen, alone, at the defunct Fairbairn Dragway in Canberra piloting his modified Datsun 180B Funny Car in blistering runs down the now bumpy track before deploying a tattered parachute to varying degrees of success. Despite Sam not being on Triple J anymore, he will still continue to be funny in a number of ways, not least of which is actually the car he drives, which, because of its very name, is funny.
