If you have worked for a company for a few years. Then the management lose trust and confidence in you Is there much point in staying in that job or is it better to move on? Cause I have been told from Management not to apply for another position within the company for no set reason. Also has anyone else had such an experience.

I'd be going to the "powers that be" and asking them what the hell you did to deserve being told such. Would be interesting to know if its a directive thats come from high up or if your immediate manager has decided he/she doesn't like you. Get to the bottom of it, then make up your mind.

Did you do anything dodgy to make the management not trust in you anymore?
I'd say leave, if you been there long enough and they've told you specifically that you are going nowhere in this job, just leave.
They'll treat you with contempt and will not give a flying horse shit about you. I'd leave only after you have, like AK said, investigated to the very bottom of it.

Then they'll realise that they have lost a valuable servant to the company....That is unless you work in McDonalds where they'll probably get a pimply teen to take your position...

If your building a career at the company than you need to get a meeting asap as the longer it continues the less likely you are to sort this out.

I'd be looking at the job pages though, as I don't think your going to feel comfortable going to work there right now and as someone who has gone to work feeling crook about it each morning it's not a good way to live.

Nah I have done nothing wrong thats what I dont understand. Just one day Management come up to me saying your wasting your time and ours Followed by not everyone gets what they want in life. Just not as happy working there anymore this being the main reason. I have talked with em and the more i try the more cut they get  Pissing me off!

When you look around your workplace there's people you automatically pick that you know will rise up the corporate ladder, be it with the current company or another. You can also pick people who are destined to spend their lives at the bottom, regardless of how long they are at their company.

At a guess I'd say you fall into the latter category of employees, rightfully or wrongfully. This image won't change, and you really need a clean start. I'd consider changing jobs.

find out whether it is a professional or a personal matter they are displeased with. It may not necessary be from management, other senior employees are a good source for feedback. this is not in the context of whether you should be staying in your job, but more for self improvement for your next role.

sometimes it is just the wrong personality for the position, and nothing professional. eg you cant be a soft asre working in insolvency / bankrupty, etc. if it's more with specific individuals, then there's probably more scope for you to hang around.

i've had 5 jobs in my career and i feel that i'm going somewhere only in this current role.

Resign and get out of the system. Take a break and small the flowers for a while and then find another job.

as an exec' manager, if you've been told this then you must have been doing something wrong. either lack of initiative, motivation or just not part of the companies plans. we usually do this to those that are out of their 6 month probationary period and you cant just give them the flick.
have had this talk with someone 2 weeks ago, (hope it wasn't you) and said that i'm not sure that you will find what you are looking for at our business and that i'm prepared to give you some time to look for another position somewhere else. if this doesn't work then we usually just performance manage them out, look for the smallest possible breach of company policy and get them on it 3 times.
i would suggest that you start looking around, if you don't then i feel that your business will do this to you as well.

Can I ask you a question if a Company has decided someone doesn't fit their plans why don't they just say it rather than playing the game of managing them out?

agree, but you know what? that many people sue businesses these days if the incorrect phrasing of advice is used. old school, you could tell someone to piss off and find another job. 10 years ago, i had a pain in the arse, argumentative manager working for me that was useless as **** on a bull. after another bloody to and fro' disagreement where he kept on making up lamearse excuses as to why he wasn't doing his job properly, i threw him a $2 coin and said here, go and buy the age on saturday and look for another ____ing job. it worked.
these days i'd end up in court for that. the real reason bosses are as weak as piss when it comes to telling the truth to workers is more often than not they get taken to court. it is very hard to get rid of a crap worker these days. wish it was different but that's how it goes.
sympathy for the op though.

The OP will turn out to be like Bill Gates one day, he'll make zillions, then he'll buy the company that sacked him/he left, then he'll sack everyone else and hire new management :thumbsu:
