News.com.au are running a poll on the biggest news events of 2005. (Kath & Kim???!)

One is the Tsunami that happened on Dec 26th 2004. Admittedly the aid effort ran and continues in 2005, but I wonder whether others view this as a 2004 or 2005 event. I think its a 2004 event.

2004 for sure, maybe news.com.au's definition of a year is xmas to xmas.

The Tsunami happened in 2004 – the aftermath ran well into the early parts of 2005.

Therefore, the Tsunami is a 2004 event IMO.

Well, both the tsunami and Kath and Kim were huge disasters, im not sure which is worse.

Only some things, they don't exactly drag out the Melbourne Phoenix winning the 2005 CBT Premiership over the Swifts.

Any other things not dragged out by the media people?

Well was it included in a list of the biggest stories of 2004?
Well? If it wasn't, then it deserves to go under 2005.

That's because no one gives a s**t ben.

It was in the financial year of 2004/2005, and it cost a lot of money, so I guess that counts.
