Just browsing the website as l do every week, to to my surprise a tread about my beloved TURTLES.....ahh..memories...:)

OK here are some Trivia questions for you new guys.
Q1. Who was the inaugural coach of the Turtles?
Q2. How was the name 'Turtles' decided apon?
Q3. How many Turtle players have been selected in the All Australian Team and who are they?
Q4. an easy one..What AFL teams theme song was adopted by the Turtles?


I payed with the team when we went to Shepparton. Gee we were hated by the opposition; out on the Pi55 every night until stumps when the Melbourne Uni's and others had curfews, won wll our games and then played off in the Grand Final, came secound but qualified for the Australian Uni Games in Melbourne where the rot continued.

We were the envy on the other teams in Melbourne, not for our drinking/partying prowess, although soild, but our trainers...two honey's one of which had a sensational set of lungs! (Still working at the Red Lion??)


My thoughts are with the Turtles, good luck in the games....get on ya backs!!

Turtle team of the decade/century dinner?? Should look into a reunion at some stage..what a ****er that would be!!

Usually the ones who get green and gold get them stripped for being naked at a event or driving on the ground or doing something stupid, but respected by all turtles. The ones who have got them lately prob don't deserve them, last couple years guys have got them when they only played like 2 games.. Trent *George* Griffiths won it in Newcastle after breaking his collarbone in like the 2nd Game!!! haha
The hatrid still exists for the Melb Uni, but its now everyone on the them which is even better..
Looks like the boys will def be playing off for a medal..

Best time of your life.. Nothing has compared to it yet..
You go to uni to play uni games, enough said.
Every trip produced some turtle magic, most the turtle magic happened off field. Arrogance was always the theme.
Adelaide and Perth by far the two best trips been involved in out of the 8.
Defenitely hurting not being able to do it this year, nearly makes you wanna go back to uni and just do a bullsh*t course so you can play..

well boys the sug's have finally come to an end with the turtle boys winning bronze, and probably underachieving, again. copius amounts of alcohol certainly made an impact come day 3 of the carnival. some performances of note came from tom mullane-grant, who kicked 13 goals in the 5 games (including 1 bicycle kick goal), sam harkin, spud macgowan, az sawers, ricky sullivan, and bakes. off field, there were many stand-outs, including tmg again, maggot, ellis, baker, 'thumper' roberts, joffa, and davo, who was a refreshing blend of crazy and angry. worst on field - wade. worst off field - rbdjak. more reports will filter in but right now i need to go to bed.
 
Big dal didnt pick up many kicks for the carnival but did pick up a girlfriend:thumbsu: and plenty of pots... so is it official dal??

I have heard from dall, unofficially its official... make sense of that and you will know.. "Dall that doesn't make sense?" " Yeah well F*$%"
 
In tragic news the Turtles have already started an injury list for the unpcoming AUG's. After coming out of SUG's unscathed, Andy Ellis has broken both bones in his lower leg and dislocated his ankle on the weekend. The incident has been likened to that of Nathan Brown and apparently was quite sickening to see. Ouch!! His club aren't expecting him to be back in action until 2008.

That is tragic to hear hope the recover from this injury is alot quicker than 2 yrs for the poor bloke... all the best Andy

got down during the SUG's to watch a dismal display of footy from the turtle's against ACU... the footy was fine but the coaching from maggot and goal umpiring from johnno was appalling... maybe a big night was had beforehand by those two guys? pull ya head in johnno and pull the boots on, you showed a real lack of heart that day and a real lack of heckling and corruption... FOR SHAME!
 
Turtles are weak on the **** and no good footballers. Monash are better on the turps and on the field. Hope to run into you at the AUG's...

come speak to me when u play 2 games of football after the entire team drinks a full bottle of spirits each, then hits the town for $3 redbull vodkas til 5am, and we'l c whos good on the turps.

Both must be awesome footballers... About as good as your payouts. Yet to see any turtle do something remotely close to anything skillful on the field all you punces do is just talk. And gault mate if your going to mouth off at least get you grammar up to scratch! Turtles are the queens of the mighty town Ballarat.

As a past player of the turtles and having played Monash at 3 AUG's, they were the weakest, softest water drinking home in bed by 11pm with themselves gay obssessed team ever.

Dont disrespect the turtles Wing Nut. Your wings will be clipped come AUG.

adelaide accommodation is booked lads, self contained apartments, 4 to a unit, bbq area pool spa...cant ask for more... and we've established a local for the week too...

Heard a rumour that the Turtles are looking for a new coach this term seeing as though the 2 coaches are on teaching rounds???
Who will take the reins??
Will tomsut be called back to hold the whiteboard??
Can his younger brother take the mantle early in his Turtle career??
Or will the past green and gold recipients Big Dall and Gouin pull rank??
Thoughts....

Cant past players of the turtles lodge coaching credentials to get a trip to adelaide and show the young fellas how to do it....
