No, the total score tells you how the game is going.
No the breakdown give more info about the game than just the total score.

If the score is 80 v 80 with 2 mins left in the last quarter you would think it’s a tight and even game with both teams going similar. But the expanded score shows its 10.20 80 v 12.8 80.

This shows that 1 team has been inaccurate while the other hasn’t and shows the team that’s dominating hasn’t taken their chances etc.

No, the total score tells you how the game is going. There's a reason why it was never on the scoreboards to begin with. Plus, they always show the goals and behinds whenever someone scores or before a bounce up. You don't need it more than that and it takes up too much space. This is almost as silly as 7 removing team names from the scoreboard, although nothing is worse than fox's.
Behinds/goals tell you which teams are more accurate and efficient, and which teams have had more I50s. They’re extremely useful bits of info, especially if you’re just flicking the TV on for a minute to see what’s happening

You do realise that they showed it plenty before it became a permanent part of the scoreboard. You would see the goals and behinds within any minute of the game (unless no one was scoring at all). Also, if you're flicking through the TV, you're not the type who cares about things like that to begin with.

You do realise that if the scoreline is 10.20 80 v 12.8 80, you would see the entire scoreline coupled with statistics anytime a score is made or anytime a bounce is made in the centre square. Likewise, do you watch the fox footy feed at all? They break away the scorecoard multiple times during the games to put statistics on it. Again, it's useless because it takes too much of the screen and you can easily show those statistics multiple times during the game. Also, go watch a fox game now. They will shorten the score board (as said above) and they will expand it to give game statitics. This is where the goals and behind tally should be used.

Why do you care so much about them being there? They hardly take up any space given the amount of extra info they provide.

I'm a minimalist. Less is more. That's why 10's old scoreboard is goated. It was that small box that had shortened team names and the total score. That's honestly all the game needs. If you need expanded statistics, they are shown hundreds of times throughout the game. And anyone who watches fox's coverage should know that the game looks a whole lot better when the scoreboard is shorter.

I noticed there was both 7 and fox cameras at Optus stadium last night. Do they both use their own crews and not feed off eachother
i assume the host broadcaster does most of it but the other would have them for the boundary rides ect… (plus I assume they might do there own replays ect…)

If it's anything like the NRL and cricket have been - NEP will be producing everything for the "host" broadcaster with each broadcaster having "opt-outs" where they can take a few of their own shots

It's literally always been shown on scoreboards at the game, so the only weird part is how it took this long to add it to the TV broadcast. Or have you never been to game so haven't noticed that?

You would have loved Optus Vision

Such a downgrade compared to the last one

Each design has lasted a few weeks. It's like they can't work out how to make it work

Marvel Stadium hasn't changed every 5 minutes

Does anyone know the fonts of the following:?

Channel 7 from 2007-11.
Channel 9. (2002-06.)
7 from all of 1997-2001.
Fox Footy 2005-07.

Thank you.
Channel 7 from 2007-11. - Gill Sans?
Channel 9. (2002-06.) - Frutiger? (Try Segoe UI which is pretty close and standard Windows font)
7 from all of 1997-2001. - Helvetica most likely
Fox Footy 2005-07. - Univers or Swiss font family

Fox seemingly trying to have the scoreboard at full length for as long as possible now.
Although they did this over the last two weeks, they were able to fill the space with 'ads' for the Good Friday Appeal, and then the Anzac Appeal. No such causes this week, so tonight they've gone with spruiking tomorrow's game. Presumably they'll promote super saturday tomorrow night, not sure about games that get shown on 7 interstate over the weekend, though.
