Ok Rocco Jones has posted two polls which have created numerous arguments and spilt bigfooty (tea v coffee, Oprah call Letterman). Now it's time for my third thought provoking post, who is TV's great dog? I say Inspector Rex, he is a superstar.

SeinDude

Scooby Doo is not a real dog, unlike Rex, Charlie, Bouncer, Lassie and especially Sally.

It sure as hell aint that Pit Bull X that was all over the TV on the weekend after attacking that poor little kid.

Rocco, how on earth can you live with yourself after neglecting to include Rin Tin Tin, after all, he saved Corp. Rusty lots of times, and the fort too

Asgardian as I said earlier the dogs need to be real.

I know my polls are controversial, but I don't hide from that. I will keep on creating this thought provoking posts and thats why we live in a country like Australia, because here we have the freedom to chose whichever dog we think is the greatest without facing discrimination.

Oh DCFC I don't know who Ubu is. Sorry about that I thought you were bagging my polls, which mean the world to me.

I've never been more serious in my life. Ubu is a friggin' canine legend. Every time that bloke asked him to sit, he did.

Damn right he was a good dog.

WOOF!

That dog that makes the sandwich, only to find that there's no mayo

Ubu a close second. Almost the worlds oldest dog ;)

Rocco, your youth and/or ignorance is showing

Rin Tin Tin is, or was at least, a real dog, a big German Shepherd, was in a TV series "The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin", made from 1954 to 1959. Naturally we in Aussie received it after that.

Rin Tin Tin had actually been a silent movie star in several films dating between 1916 and 1932, all of which were box office successes. There were even two seperate Radio serials featuring Rin Tin Tin, one in 1930, and the other in 1955.

In 1987 a cable network, The Family Channel, made "Rin Tin Tin K-9 Cop", where the dog was part of the Toronto Police Dept.

In 1958 3 episodes of that years series were thrown together, and released theatrically as "The Challenge of Rin Tin Tin"

Come on Rocco, fire up son, be controversial, and just as a suggestion, try to also be correct..;) :p

Ooh, ooh, can I do the Jay Leno line ...

"Someone buy this kid a TV!"

Ubu was the production company that made (amongst other things) Family Ties. At the end of every FT episode they would have the production company's logo, which happened to be a dog called Ubu. And the voice over bloke would say "Sit, Ubu, sit. Good dog." Whereon the greatest dog in televisual history emphatically replied, "WOOF!"

Who's with me? Ubu! Ubu! Ubu!

Who the hell is Ubu?

He helps out with Spin City, after earlier working on another MJ Fox vehicle, Family Ties.

At the end of each show, his handler demands "Sit, Ubu, Sit", and every week he does so. His actions are then positively reinforced with the phrase "good dog". At this point, he is so happy he invariably lets out a "woof" of delight.

He is an amazing canine, and would certainly have got my vote were he made eligible.

JubJub that's kane the supperdog.

Rin Tin Tin? Not real??? Bring out the stocks!!! :D

Rinny would have all these mutts for breakfast! Well, maybe not Rex seeing they are both German Shepherds.

Rin TinTin. The original wonderdog of film (going back to the silents way before Lassie).

Accept no substitutes!
