Loved Pearce Hanleys tweet, Rocky's was good too. Both passionate about the club which is something that we surely need. I emailed the club and said i'd take out an extra membership if they re-issued those tweets, loved em.

Just a quick question then, what do you think of Pearce Hanley's comments? Do you feel they were appropriate or perhaps part of something bigger?
From the outside, and believe me I'd know what with my club, it looks odd and seems like a poor tweet all in all.

My thoughts are that is one of those tweets where if it is one of your own players you love the passion but if it isn't one of your players you seize the opportunity to act morally superior and say "tut tut tut".

What did Rocky actually tweet?

Can't remember the exact wording but suggested that a few players nominating the club they wanted to go were getting a bit ahead of themselves and that they should worry about getting a game first.

I've been feeling some sympathy and general positive feelings for Port lately. I'm glad to see that is shifting back into grudging respect and immense dislike following the 2004 Grand Final. On ya Gobby!

An hour ago, Callum Barlett tweeted his thanks to the Lions for giving him the opportunity to play AFL...also said stick with the boys, big things to come!

You have just won over every Lions fan for life Callum:hearts: ...Best wishes for everything you do from here on in CB:thumbsu:

(shows the quality of the man, what a shame we had to let him go:()

I think Cal won us all over a long time ago to be fair.

What's the context for Leigh's tweet? Has something happened?

EDIT: Gary Pert's comments, maybe?

In the late 80s it would've been hard to imagine Gary Pert warning about the dangers of equalisation, and Leigh Matthews standing up for the less strong clubs.

How good is it to have Leigh in our corner saying that stuff now. Genuine gravitas and relevance. If anyone else on our board said that no one outside the Lions would even notice.

I have to confess that I sometimes click the Board of Directors link on the Lions site just to smile at the fact he's on our board.

Lol! And I thought some of the stuff that I got up to on the internet was weird!
