I've been very impressed with these two for a while, especially so far this season.

The first is Mitch Robinson. Hard at the ball, clean disposal, can kick goals - he's everything that you could want in a midfielder. A hard nut as well as a good user of the pill.

The second is Joe Anderson. He has busted is arse off to get a spot in the team and is overlooked far too much. Athletic, smart and skilled, this kid will probably play a lot more time in the seniors.

Joey was playing bloody good footy last year for the Bullants but couldn't get a look in because of Armfield and also because Browne was preferred. When he did get a look in he had to play a different role to what he had been playing in the 2's and struggled as a result.

I daresay Anderson is close to/has leapfrogged Browne at this point in time.

Robbo - agree 100%. He's an absolute jet. Anybody with doubts as to whether he's going to start in the senior team, have no doubts. Robbo was fantastic today and will, without a doubt, be a regular in our best 22 this season. He's a beauty. :thumbsu:

Joey - have to disagree. Can't fault his endeavour, but I just don't think he's up to it. Look, I really like him but can't help but feel that this will be his last year on the senior list unless he drastically improves. His skills and awareness, at this stage, are just not up to scratch. Needs a huge season to stay on the list.

Agree on Robbo - looks to have taken things up a notch this year; Joey has looked good on occassions but overall just doesn't measure up - hope he can improve his kicking and decision making and get on a roll, but unless we are hit hard with injuries I just don't see him getting a sustained run - will likely be delisted year's end.:(

Robbo and Yarran are the ones.
Right now they both deserve their spot in our best 22.
Many of us would have had them there last year also, but this summer has treated them well.

Anderson is touch and go and leaning more towards the go though.
I still like him, but he is much too loose on his opponent for mine and still not comfortable in his decision making.

Robbo sure is a beauty, so happy we have him and it's easy to see why the Blues head honchos rated him so highly.

Gotta love him, if he keeps improving at this rate and can sustain it (fitness wise I'm mainly thinking) it's hard to fault him, because honestly he's a tough midfielder/forward who can do it all.

The temptation would to play him forward of centre, but I for one would like to see him hover around the centre / wing positions.
I wouldn't mind having Robbo running into a few opposition forwards. That would make a few second guess as to what may be coming.
Given his greater running capacity the odd foray into the forward line may also produce riches for us.

He is now built like the proverbial brick s#*t-house, and I'd bet he'd feel like one given you be on the receiving end of one of his knocks.
I see Robbo seriously becoming one of our favourites at the club

I can't see an ideal type of player that would be suited to Joey. He's to slow for small forwards, not big enough for big forwards and lacks pace for the lead up type 3rd tall. At HBF we need line breakers with smart decision making who can launch attacks. Can't see Joey making the grade I'm afraid.

Mitch's development is going to be important to the success of our new forward-line structure as he is the closest young player I can think of to a Paul Chapman, who plays hard in the middle then provides a marking option up forward. Currently whenever I think of him I see that perfect kick to Henderson from about the middle of the wing in the NAB Cup game, a half-forward that will push up the ground and deliver those sort of results is very valuable

Anderson still turns the ball over too much for my liking ..his game against the Swans was pretty ordinary ..lots of turnovers and poor decision making ...at the moment he and Browne aren't in our best 22 because of this reason.

Robinson is a gem ..reminds me of Hickmont in a lot of ways ..tough and uncompromising .....seems to love the physical stuff .
He's just what we have needed for the last 5 years.

Gee that's a great comparison BM.

Agree with Robbo - tough and hard at it, just needs to play out the games. Tends to start off great but fades as the games go on. This will improve with experience and fitness

For me there is still a ? over Anderson. Can't fault his heart and endevour. The main issue with him is his awareness. When he receives that ball, if there is no obvious target straight away he tends to run around in circles trying to find something and most times either gets caught or the pressure causes a turnover

Paying that. :thumbsu:
