West Adelaide ball-magnet Laurence Andriani has won the 2025 SANFL U16 Best and Fairest medal, capping off a stellar season for the Bloods’ youngster.

Andriani polled votes in 14 matches, including seven first preferences, finishing two votes ahead of Central District’s Hugo Semmler (28 votes) and eight ahead of Sturt’s Taj Garrett (22 votes).

The SMOSH West Lakes product averaged a phenomenal 36.2 disposals, 5.9 marks, 6.1 tackles and 8.4 clearances and is the first West Adelaide player to win the U16 Best and Fairest Award since it was introduced in 2022.

South Adelaide’s Zemes Pilot, Norwood’s Mason Tambe and North Adelaide’s Harry Tamblyn tied for fourth place, all finishing on 16 votes, whilst North Adelaide’s Blake Amos rounded out the top five, finishing the season with 15 votes.

In your opinion, who were the top three in the game?
Balwyn: Nayef, McDonald, Condello - clearly the best 3. Then supported by a host of others all at a good standard
Citz: Howlett, Locke and Hose - again, clearly the best 3.

who has the best bottom age talent for next year?? oakleigh would have the best Mccollough, alexander, kravic,Adam’s,bond, destafanis, or even calder is stacked, would the worst be eastern with only sruk?

Eastern: Sruk, Flower, Upton, Ham, Nicholls, Djordevic,
Western: Miller, King, Barker, Castro, Lamont
Calder: Rodan, Bewick, White, Law, Mousti,
Northern: West, Wilson, Rooks, Koby McDonald (one to keep a close eye on)
Sandy: Bakoulas, Brown, Stratford, Orr, Crelley, Hotton
Oakleigh: Mccollough, alexander, kravic,Adam’s,bond, destafanis add in Condello, Bullock, Timms and Hose

Do we roll out the infamous "superdraft" tag yet?

If so, what a year for Tassie to come in, especially considering they appear to have their best home state crop in a generation.

Yes, we are thinking its very deep with exceptional top-end talent.

Interesting time for Tassie. They will get to pre-list the very strong talent in the Tassie state team (Husband, Gulliver, Heazlewood et al) and get up to 10 pre-selection 17 year olds. Will Axel Walsh sign with Tassie? (using him as an example)...Or nominate for the open draft? Will they secure the very best talent?

Futbolista

Mitch Baker apparently missed most of the season with a lower leg or foot injury. Watched some U16's futures footage, his acceleration, kicking and general disposal are excellent. An obvious knock would be his endurance and size. Doesn't look like he'd be much behind Artemis as he's got a bit of punch to his game.

Ok I'll push him up the list a bit next week and then look forward to seeing how he does in colts footy in 2026.

Cheers mate

Btw Koby and Mousti are playing u18s today

Big Cohen Dent, Louie Salopek and Tom Steinfort

Cohen Dent will surely break the VFL/AFL tallest player ever when (and if) he's picked up.

208cm at 16yo should see him stop at about 214cm or taller.

HUUUUUUUGE!

Jack Condello got the rising star award from oakleigh in the YJFL presentation this morning
Campbell Rooks for the Knights, Darcy Noonan from Eastern.

top 3 in the bnf

3. Daniel Bullock
Equal second place
2. Luca Dryden
2. Alexander Ireland
1. Oliver Flanagan with first place.

Max Whapshott from Balwyn/St Kevins will trial for the U18's for Sandringham. He apparantely had two choices between sandy and Oakleigh.

Only two from Ashburton ive heard got an U18 invite for Oakleigh, Ted Fraser and Luke De Valle. Though common those in the U16 squad would transition into U18

Sturt’s supreme efficiency catapulted it to its first SANFL U18 premiership in eight years with a stunning 57-point triumph against West Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.

SA U16 leadership group members Harvey Chapman (21 disposals, nine marks) and Taj Garrett (25 disposals, 12 marks) continued to show great maturity after playing key roles for the Double Blues in defence and on a wing respectively.

Richmond father-son prospect Louis Kellaway was rock solid with 17 disposals, seven tackles, eight marks and a left foot snap goal while Noah Mennillo was a constant danger inside 50 for Sturt with six shots on goal (2.4) from his 17 touches.

Have Oakleigh already sent out invites for next years 18s?

Maxy is improving every game. He’s going to be a very good player if it’s important enough to him.
Jack, Rooks and Darcy are alli rising stars. Thoroughly deserved.
Interesting that none of the APS kids featured in the BnF placings…someone like Olli Bond would’ve done very well.

Surprisingly Kobe McDonald didn’t place🤷‍♂️

I guess so.
Unless its the first round of invitations? Training is meant to start in October, I think.
The invitations to trial are out.

A number of pre selections are automatically through
