Pumped for this card especially for the Dong Hyun Kim fight. I'll back Overeem but wouldn't count Lesnar out, hopefully he has learned how to take a punch now.

This is going to be a great way to kick NYE celebrations. Can't wait.

Quick picks:

Overeem, brutally and early.
Diaz by sub in a great back and forth war.
Hendricks in an upset.
Gustaffson by decision.
Phan by decision.

Pearson by decision.
Castillo by TKO.
Kim by decision.
Volkmann by decision.
Ramos by sub.
Nunes by TKO.

Overeem by KO is a far better bet IMO. Diaz has very good BJJ and Brock really doesn't like getting hit.... no brainer for mine.

I was thinking this, haven't seen much of Diaz so wasn't sure how he would go. Thanks

Nate's similar to his brother Nick if you've seen much of him. Not as good overall but has very good boxing, a strong chin and very good subs. His biggest problems have been with strong wrestlers who can avoid his subs and Cerrone just doesn't have the kind of wrestling chops to contain him the way guys like Guida and Stevenson have.

Good luck with your multi mate and if it doesn't come through, hopefully it wasn't because of my advice.

No live prelims on ONE this time as there's tennis on instead. No word yet if Fuel will air them live.

Main card
Heavyweight bout: Brock Lesnar vs Alistair Overeem - agree that either way this is ending inside two rounds, the Werdum fight showed Overeem's problems that have plagued his career still exist, I think Lesnar will struggle to get a takedown due to Overeem's strength in the first round but after that the Reem to tire and Brock to get him down and pound him out
Lightweight bout: Nate Diaz vs Donald Cerrone - love this fight, big fan of both and it's a really tough one to call, I think Diaz stylistically matches up pretty well with Cowboy though and I'm leaning towards him getting a sub, I can't believe the bookies have Cerrone by sub at better odds than Nate by sub, IMO this either goes the distance or Nate wins by submission
Welterweight bout: Jon Fitch vs Johny Hendricks - tough to pick against Fitch, although Hendricks has a chance
Light Heavyweight bout: Vladimir Matyushenko vs Alexander Gustafsson - good test for Gustafsson, Vladdy is still tough, think he'll be up for it though after the way he smashed Hamill
Featherweight bout: Nam Phan vs Jimy Hettes - not sure, I don't think Nam is very good and Hettes showed a bit in his debut

Spike Prelims
Featherweight bout: Ross Pearson vs Junior Assuncao - hopefully TKO, something about Assuncao bugs me
Lightweight bout: Anthony Njokuani vs Danny Castillo - TKO

Facebook prelims
Welterweight bout: Dong Hyun Kim vs Sean Pierson - sub
Lightweight bout: Jacob Volkmann vs Efrain Escudero - decision
Welterweight bout: Matt Riddle vs Luis Ramos - decision
Featherweight bout: Manny Gamburyan vs Diego Nunes - decision

Pumped to see how far Gustaffson can go. Absolutely can not wait for Brock vs the Reem. I have a feeling Overeem is going to end this brutally. I like Brock, but he's been dropped by a knee by both Carwin and Velasquez, and neither of them can knee half as hard as Overeem can.

Big fan of Cerrone, if he wins this, he'll be in title contention. Looking forward to seeing him "go get some Don-ald SSEROWNAY!" lol. Pissed myself when I hear Greg Jackson say that

Did anyone catch "countdown to 141" on one at about 11 last night, I know they are pumping the publicity up around how big these two boys are, but god damn they are absolute monsters, watching Lesnar spar with Pat Barry he made him look like a little kid. This will be a war, seeing Overeems striking makes me think he will give everyone in Heavyweights division problems, dude has some seriously scary striking

Did you catch Barry's fight with Struve? Here's a photo for reference if you didn't:

Can someone please help my slow mind work out when this is actually happening. Saturday morning our time?

Yeah, the prelims will start Saturday morning, but the main card will start at noon. Usually UFC events are on Sunday here, but this one is a day early.
Excellent, thank you.

As for my picks, well I honestly have no idea. For both Lesnar/Overeem and Diaz/Cerrone, I really don't know who to go with. There are just so many possibilities in both fights and I cannot wait to watch them. I think the rest of the fights will go to the favourites but I'd like to see Escudero get back on track.

Main card
Heavyweight bout: Brock Lesnar vs Alistair Overeem - Could go either way, but I'm going with 'reem due to his greater experience and the fact that every round starts on its feet. He knocks Brock out in the 1st.
Lightweight bout: Nate Diaz vs Donald Cerrone - Highly impressed with Cerrone. He's a big, tall LW with awesome striking and I think he'll win by TKO or a choke.
Welterweight bout: Jon Fitch vs Johny Hendricks - Fitch is a class above Hendricks and he'll win by the usual Fitch method. Takedowns and ground dominance that gets him an easy decision. It's not pretty, but it's very effective.
Light Heavyweight bout: Vladimir Matyushenko vs Alexander Gustafsson - Vlad has KO power but Gustafsson is a talented fighter on the rise. Wins by decision.
Featherweight bout: Nam Phan vs Jimy Hettes - Hettes by decision.

Spike Prelims
Featherweight bout: Ross Pearson vs Junior Assuncao - Pearson by TKO.
Lightweight bout: Anthony Njokuani vs Danny Castillo - Njokuani by TKO

Facebook prelims
Welterweight bout: Dong Hyun Kim vs Sean Pierson - Kim by sub.
Lightweight bout: Jacob Volkmann vs Efrain Escudero - Volkmann by decision
Welterweight bout: Matt Riddle vs Luis Ramos - Ramos by decision
Featherweight bout: Manny Gamburyan vs Diego Nunes - Nunes by TKO

I think Overeem will cave Lesnar's head in and he'll do it early. ****ing monster.
