Don't have cable so I only read results from time to time on the internet but is Umaga still undefeated? Are the WWE turning him into a Goldberg where every wrestler is just going to job to him?

It's amazing what a new name and a cahnge of Gimmick can do for a wrestler

Technically he has been defeated on Raw when he was a member of 3 Minute Warning, not not since he has re launched himself as Umaga

Mind you on that subject compare Kane's previous gimmick of Isaac Yankem DDS to the current one of the Big Red Machine and its amazing just how much a good gimmick can change someone's career

Same guy, same moves, different name and costume and its nothing but success
 
Umaga is another one of these WWE big guys that goes on an undefeated run where for months he just wins to guys in 2 min matches, he puts on a slow crappy match with another big man once every month which you can't expect to be any good and then they put him up against the likes of John Cena, for a upper card calibre match and they expect Umaga to work miracles and put on a good match after months of 2minute squashes.

Just for an interesting not I got this from Wikipedia on Eddie Fatu (Umaga)

Eddie is a member of the famous Anoa'i wrestling family, he is the brother of Solofa Fatu (Rikishi) and Sam Fatu (The Tonga Kid), cousin to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Rodney Anoa'i (Yokozuna), Samula Anoa'i (Headshrinker Samu), Matt Anoa'i (Rosey), Jimmy Snuka, Jr., and nephew to "Soulman" Rocky Johnson, the Wild Samoans (Sika & Afa), and Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka.

Are u sure he was part of three minute warning? was he rosy? guess not cos i dont remember the other guy, i know they were botht samoan though, must be the face paint that makes him lok different.

anywho, in relation to the cena-umaga thing, u can just tell that the childrens champ is gonna win there too keep all the kids happy otherwise they'll cry...btw, has cena ever taken a shot (or razor) that made him bleed? if there was, im sure it was soft. hate to say it but nitro>cena.

Umaga is a success story , not only because he comes out and dominates in the ring but also because he has the perfect manager ... Armannnnnnnndo Elejannnnndro Estrrrrraddddda. Make a good team and somebody like Umaga should be World Champ.

I did watch that, and JBL put on the best performance of the night, JBL was the best of smackdown superstars, his mic + in ring skills are awesome

He can't wrestle dude, it has been a problem since he started and nothing has been done about it. The only people he has decent matches against are those who are decent enough to carry him. He's a joke, he isn't liked by anybody and with good reason.

Quick though champ better go and see 'The Marine' as soon as it comes out here. :p

Sorry to all, I hate to hijack the thread but no, Im not a fan of his but don't hate him either.

Just like Buddy noted with JBL's ring skills, Cena isn't the only nor will he be the last WWE champion with limited in-ring skills.

Then along the way a lot of internet fans used this as the SOLE reason he was hated. He's been around since 2002 and has only been really hated by the fans for the last couple.


For the last 18 months or so he has pulled back on the 'rapper' gimmick, and is at the peak of hatred by internet fans. So not only are a majority of internet fans kidding themselves, they really are a bunch of sheep.


This is the main reason why WWE are f'd at the moment, they don't care about the internet fans, hence a watered down DX, Cena still champ - they cater for the kiddies now.


All I want is for fans is for once to formulate their own opinion and not of a MILLION others. All internet WWE fans do these days is bitch and moan, don't like it? dont watch it.
 
Just on Austin, he was actually very good in the ring untill the broken neck. After that he had to adapt to the brawler style.

Fair enough dude, but I didn't watch must wrestling through the 02-03 period but from what I saw I liked his gimmick. I'm a mark for heels as it is.

His gimmick now is just lame and stupid. He shouldn't have the belt, if not for his in-ring skills for the pathetic unlikeable character they've got him portraying now.

And the way the WWE booked the Cena-Angle fued last year was as bad and ridiculous as you're likely to get.

Fair points though.

I form my own opinions I don't care what others think. I like Randy Orton and most 'internet fans' seem to dislike him. We're all different.

But at the moment it's ridiculous that Cena has the belt, Edge-Triple H-Michaels, anyone of those three suits me fine.

Edge has worked as hard as anybody to get to where he is and he deserves a decent run with the belt. Something he never got in the Cena feud. Which I guess is better than what Angle got.

Very true, any move you'd see Austin perform was done to perfection.

On Cena, in recent months his ring work has improved quite a bit. But he's still being booked to be freakin superman.
