When the f*** are we going to see umpires heads on the chopping block at selection time! tonight was an absolute disgrace. We need answers to at least 2 questions.

1. Why was play on called when the ball was bounced outside the centre circle in the 2nd quarter and warnock unable to reach the Ball, this is the EASIEST decision possible for the umpire and quite frankly anyone who ever gets this wrong is not an afl standard umpire.

2. Why suddenly in the last minute of a game can you rip a blokes head of with no free kick, players have to stand up in pressure situations and so should umpires, don't be chicken sh** and blow the bloody whistle like you do for the other 99.9% of the game.

It's fairly obvious that these decisions cost us the game yet we have to just cop it on the chin and move on

That ball outside of the bouncing ******* circle that the Commission agreed to,directly resulted in a goal to the scats!
Menzel gets his head ****ing ripped off and rubbed in the turf no free **** me

To be fair why play on was called on Hawkins I have no idea. For me that basically makes up for the shocking centre bounce call.

first time for the year. In fact have never seen it occur before. Most players kick it before the 30 seconds run out.
However that said, the call of play on did not make hawkins hurry his shot so no that does not equal the centre bounce clanger.

We lost the game because we had to many players not doing anything, not the umpires. They are always going to get some things wrong.

That's complete rubbish, I think tonight was the first time this yr that we had 22 players having a red hot crack. And yes they are all going to get some things wrong but seeing that the ball bounces 3m over the centre circle not allowing 1 ruckman a fair contest is something they should NEVER get wrong

If Henderson held a couple of marks or Mclean stood the right side of Selwood in the last few minutes we would have won, only have ourselves to blame, never seen a game that has had no umpiring mistakes.

Brisbane aren't that good, Geelong weren't that good tonight. We had our chance and made too many mistakes and had too many passengers.

I really hope you are having a laugh here. Hawkins was a dead eye basically all night and his shot didn't even make the distance. He was clearly off put.

Don't listen to the commentators mate. Happened to an Essendon player, I wanna say Goddard, who only took so long because the umpire ****ed around on the mark.

You blokes were robbed. Completely and utterly robbed.

Nobody is saying we expect them to be perfect, we just expect them to get the 100% obvious calls that someone with half decent vision would see! The opposition coach and players agreed post game and in the press conference so it's weird that our own fans don't.

Ps. Yes McLean is shit but that doesn't mean he didn't try being a crappy footballer and having a crack are 2 completely different things, sadly we don't have enough players that can have a good crack and at the same time have some football ability

If they want to stop this Aus kick rolling maul shit that is served up every week in the AFL. Start paying incorrect disposal not just from someone tackling. Pay it for throws that are being used more often than any other year. AFL is turning into Rugby it used to be a great game to watch with skill full use of the footy and high marking. But now days it's just maul after maul stoppage after stoppage because umpires don't pay incorrect disposal and tiggy touch wood frees that used to open up the game. Time for an overhaul and instead of changing the ****ing rules again! Let's get some basic things back like incorrect disposal of the footy, not just drop the ****ing thing and pass it to your teammate by throwing it.

He did not make the distance because (I believe) he kicks the tuft.
The player on the mark is coming at him but is still several paces away when he kicks it.
His preparation is not hurried by that call.
Ultimately he took too long in taking his kick and my point is that call still does not make up (as you said) for that centre bounce clanger.

We're just not good enough for long enough sadly.

Pretty much!

We have some very good players who are playing very well and carrying the team.

We have a few ordinary players who are limited either by lack of leg speed or lack of skills.

We have a good handfull of players who don't appear fit or are too old and are playing well below their ability.

We currently have very little in the reserves and this is why certain individuals are still getting games and will continue to do so.

Umpires are irrelevant, they always make some mistakes, if you want to win games then you go out and win them.

The old saying "play the whistle" comes to mind. I still don't think that was a game changer as we came back and took the lead. The Menzel one however, gee..

The call to play on on Hawkins was because he was taking to long to kick the ball...

Umpires irrelevant in a game decided by a kick and several indecisions? Get off it.

You're allowed to win games by a point, the umpires should officiate fairly and in a close game they were the difference where even the opposition admitted their faults.

Obviously, I mean what else could it have been . My point was that it is never called. I'm sure if that was Henderson we wouldn't be happy with the play on call. Unless you have another smart arse comment to add?
