All I ask for is consistency and those 3 were horrible and really hurt us. How Neon never got that 50 is something not even the most one eyed Adelaide fan could argue. Instead it allowed all the Adelaide players to run back and fill up the holes, hurting us twice.

I'm not blaming the umpires, personally I blame our first quarter. Its his own fault he was off balance, he then ran past Johnson and was then mowed down, thats holding the ball everytime

Dude, seriously, no one cares who you think is better. If you make the 8 at years end, then come here and carry on. I think you know deep down that down is the only way the crows are headed. We were abysmal in the 1/4 and still nearly pinched it regardless of some costly umpiring errors. Good luck with 2010 though.

The game wasn't won/lost because of the umpiring. They did a standard job. I've seen them have much, much, much, much worse games. The game was won/lost because we were more up for it in the first quarter, the intencity was there, and it took you guys a quarter to wake up.

There were 2 occasions where it should've been holding ball, Adelaide got a perplexin free kick and scored a goal. Then it also should've been a 50m penalty to Neon late in the 4th. Thats 3 goals difference, the umpires were as predictable as roulette

Better is debatable. Better on the day, I'll concede but as i say and as you, and it seems most, acknowledge the umpiring definitely helped your cause. That 50m penalty could have been paid but it was still in the back 50 so nothing lost. We got some stinkers that re****ed in a pass - goal. They are the ones that really hurt.

Yes they do hurt ... and every team every year has examples which they can point to where they think the umpires cost them a game.

Yeah we were better on the day, but you're probably a safer bet to be around the mark come September.

Like i said in the Gameday Thread , i watched the game from start to finish and the Umpiring was Crap. The Pies were on the bad end most of time and r*ped in the first half. Wether you can directly blame these decisions for the loss is debatable and i am not getting involved.

Our Umpires are Crap and it needs to be addressed by the AFL it is a joke.

I think the Crows poor indirect Goal kicking kept you guys in it early in the game but the Crows did well when you headed them in the 3rd and the game looked over.

Tyson Edwards, dropping the ball, free kick, easy clearance, goal.

Scott Stevens, hands in the back with 6 other players in the contest, body on body, umpire picks a free kick out, goal.

At this stage, Collingwood are out to an 18 point lead and storming home. 3 easy goals to the Crows swings momentum back.

Alan Toovey tackles Douglas, game in the balance, buries his own head into him and then stands up, free kick, goal.

Dale Thomas, sells candy on the boundary, allegedly runs out of bounds, goals, throw it in. Inconclusive as to whether it was in or out from the footage but as Hirdy said, that goes the other way and Pies win.

Add Paul Medhurst mark in the second quarter inside 50, lines up most likely to goal, judged to have been a push out with his leg. Free kick _ 50m. WTF?

It is these types of free kicks that make supporters feral.

You're on another teams board, if you have a problem with their opinion (especially after a loss), then don't go trolling there.

You win, congratulations, but this thread is on the Collingwood board and wasn't made so you could come in and argue, if it was it'd be on the Crows board.

Grow up and move along, you don't like the influx on trolls when you lose on your boards, what gives you the impression any other team would?

Umpiring? I thought you did get a couple of bad calls and there were odd decisions both ways. Think we shaded you for most of the day apart from that burst you put on in the 3rd. Your straight kicking kept you in it in the first half. With the amount of opporrtunity we had, we should have buried you.

We went in with 5 tall half back flankers.. the balance was ludicrous.. like I said, lost at the selection table.

Unfortunately this is the AFL and you don't get charity games simply because you are young.

Dayne Beams is the only one of those three would had a claim to play in this game. Sidebottom was never in consideration, and I don't think he should be yet either. He isn't ahead of any of our midfielders yet and there is no rush to get him in. I would have played Beams instead of Johnson, but it is still a line ball decision.
Stanley (not of any fault of his own) was never going to be named either on the back of not even getting a gig in the NAB cup.

Fact is that this team on paper would normally smash the Crows, selection had nothing to do with it. The Crows didn't win the game through their young kids, they all contributed, but it was the blokes you expect to impact matches that did... Where as our few of ours have got a bit of thinking to do.

I agree with the Edwards and Stevens decisions as errors of the highest quality. I'm not convinced Daisy wasn't out of bounds so as i expect the ump was in a better position will hapily concede that one. And the Toovey tackle decsion was soft and perhaps could have been left as a ball up. How many times do you see that happen in a pack situation and nothing is called. The other decision I hate is how they take the "hands in the back rule" to the extreme. I so don't wish to see the speccy taken out of the game and that one little hand on the shoulder of the backman could just be let go. If he spills the mark, pay the free. If he holds it, for the love of the game, let it go. How many great speccys would have been disallowed if that rule always stood?

Yeah, you're right. Every single goal scoring opportunity they had arose from a soft free kick. In the end, Adelaide were probably lucky to even score. Bloody umps.

I was implying that some of their goals were direct results of incorrect umpiring which results in goals which in turn gave them momentum.
