Someone, anyone tell me how Gibbs got pinged for holding the ball there at 1 stage when he handballed the ball out after the tackle had slipped down his leg, dont come back with the 360 theory either as he barely had it.

After this decision against Gibbs and the non decision a minute later when 2 Port players sat on Judds back - I was convinced the umpires were favouring the home team in the third quarter.

They were pretty bad umpiring mistakes. Maybe the umpires could do with some of their sponsor's (OPSM) products.

The ones that stand out the most was the westhoff dive! Man that guy is one of the softest players I have seen.

The Yaz 50 when he was clearly being held before taking possession the gets pinged for holding the ball.

Gibbs getting called for holding the ball after he clearly handballs it!

One a plus how great is it to see the biggest douche Chad Cornes kick a goal act all tough and then get done by 6 goals.

Umpiring was disgraceful today, The AFL need to do something about umpire training or matchday simulation at training where there is a huge crowd roar factor one way or the other. They need to get these muppets to apply the rules and get more of their decisions right whether there is a huge home crowd roar or not.

I'm in Brisbane atm so I had no choice but to watch Richmond v Hawthorn.

I've no doubt that the umpiring standards have dropped all round this year. It's not often I feel sorry for Hawthorn but today the umpiring was an absolute disgrace. Makes me think there was an ajenda to keep Richmond in the game. Especially bad for Buddy Franklin. How that guy doesn't lose it totally is beyond me. Not only did he get a ton of dubious frees against him, but he laid quite a few legit tackles and was not rewarded. Worst biased crap I have seen against him. I have heard it said and witnessed it a few times, but today was just beyond belief.

I don't know why Hawthorn don't ask the AFL to lodge an investigation. They would certainly have quite a bit of proof on the highlight reel.

I hope the Umps don't try and make up for it with Buddy next week...

A lot of niggle in the game as well.

Didnt make thier job any easier.

I thought they were consistent at least.

Consistantly crap...

How could they say incorrect disposal on Gibbs when he clearly handballed it to our advantage. I think that it was at the start of the third and gave the power it's momentum.

Though I didn't see it, I was listening to the radio broadcast and the commentators were of the opinion that he was pinged because he was brought to ground before he handballed, and had prior opportunity.

But I didn't see it...

WTF! How in the world was that holding the ball. :thumbsd::thumbsd:

Firstly he wasn't tackled. He was simply held onto but by the time he hit the ground Cornes had lost his grip.

Secondly; he handballed! :eek::eek::eek:

Jesus christ!

What Mo said happened... Gibbs was tackled, had his hands free and handballed while on the ground and on his back.

It was a clear handball and they showed it several times in replays. Even the tv commentators were dumbstruck (pretty easy really) about it.

But we won... they lost.

 Get real.

I agree with him... it was consistently bad and didn't really benefit either sides.

We got some that went for us that were shockers.

Jarrad Waites 50m penalty when the guy held on to him for a few seconds after the mark.. maybe by the letter of the law that's a 50. but it's not in the spirit of the game... and we see worse so much more. every week.

I hate how small forwards are allowed to pull people away from the ball. but as soon as a midfielder does it. there's a free kick.
