Well, the tides have definatly turned. Judging by the blatent chest thumping that is happening on the main board it seems that we are going to be the Underdogs for the first time this year.

Does anyone think that this is going to spur the boys on to fire on all cylinders?

Melbourne are favorites dude. Get your facts straight.

Melbourne: $1.72
Richmond: $2.00

On SEN the Tiger fans seem to have chalked this one up already & are focussing on West Coast. It reminds me of round 2 last year on a Friday night actually...
Can you just refresh my mind on the margain...59 points was it BT? Neitz kicked 9...? It's all coming back to me now.

I too am reminded of this moment as this game approaches, which is why im not getting ahead of my self. I do think we will be alot more competetive than Rd 2 last year though.

As if you want it to be close. I'd rather thump them, just like any supporter would want for their own team.

Shhh, don't tell anyone :)

yeh we need a percentage boost after fading out last week.

but that dun mean im cocky

i'd glady settle for a win in a tight match. pretty much 50/50 imo

if we bring our A game then im sure we will be fine cos at our best i rate ourselves better then richmond. we just really need to well perhaps not stop but limited Richardson and Brown cos they seem unstopable atm.

Whelan and Miller would be our best bets but i know we would all rather see Miller up forward more often

It's a very different Richmond this year & they have a much better coach. The expectation of the Tiger fans is Richmond's biggest hurdle I feel. We did this last year & rode the wave loud & proud but wiped out in August, either way it's an exciting period for both clubs & at their best they produce great footy.

Bruce & Whelan will be better for last weeks run, they were both missed badly in the month they missed. Neeta? I dunno if he was even injured in the first place, he didn't look injured against Carlton but we'll know on Friday I guess. Gaspar's in much better form this time around too. We'll need Robertson,Davey,Holland & Yze in the same form they showed at Optus, hopefully with much better conversion from those first 3....

i wouldn't mind seeing Yze playing off the Half Back line taking Brown out of the equation.

He needs to discover kicking form if he is to be in the forward line more..

Demons are great front runners - so if they get in front and on a roll will be hard to stop.

IMO our forward line is looking very dangerous against Ferguson and Nicolson.

Whoever wins this one can almost book in the double chance in the finals. 8 point game.

Hmm. I think you meant the latter 3. Can't do mauch better than Robertsons 6.1. ;)

Will need our whole side to fire for four quarters this week or will get done. It will be won in the guts where we have been destroyed recently (Carlton doesn't count). If Richmond win plenty out of the middle I fear their forwardline will dominate our backs.

If Melbourne play good football for 4 quarters you'll probably win. The Tigers haven't really played 4 good quarters in a game all year. We tend to play in bursts and have a bad quarter or two each game. Likely to be a see sawing affair.

I'd be surprised to see Yze on Brown. Doubt either Coach would want their most dangerous player matching up on each other.
The midfields are evenly matched.
I think the key to Richmond this week will be 2 unlikely players - Stafford and Schultz.
Stafford has the height that would force probably White to drop back into the back pocket. If he does that he'll get plenty of it but will face a wall of Richmond players standing at the centre ready to ping it back into the 50.
Schultz played his first game for the year last week. He went alright but will improve this week. Is a great mark and your third defender will have to take him. He's capable of kicking 5 goals a match.
As for Melbourne - I get nervous thinking about Yze, Robertson and Davey. When their confidence is up they can kick a bag of goals very quickly and turn a game in minutes.
