I don't feel comfortable with us going in as favourites this week.

I know the reasons why we should be, but Essendon nearly snatched an upset last week.

On League Teams tonight, the whole panel tipped us and Dermie even closed the show off with "good luck to your respective teams... go kangaroos"
Am guessing he wants to see the bombers sent packing.

It's our game to lose this week, let's hope we don't muff it!
 
he openly hates Essendon........thats because of the history he had against the club.......imagine if he were here on BF>>>>he'd hate em even more!!

I noticed they closed pregame discussion thread.........very precious them over there.
 
Get used to being favourites and expected to win games over the next few years. Embrace it, use it and walk tall baby.

We always lock the intitial preview thread once the teams are announced, the discussion then moves over to a new topic with the announced teams in it and discussion resumes.

Hi Deano.

I have an uneasy feeling this is a joint North-Bombers board at the moment. On the game, everyone's nervous - pretty even teams and stakes are high. North being more settled should sway it in our favour, as it is with the bookies. We seem to get outraged when our team is underrated, and skittish when they are favourites - need some therapy!

Im really worried dont know why just want us to win so bad ...i dont think i will even watch the game . It's not that i dont think we will win but i just want it so bad i dont want to contemplate the loss .
Please if someone knows a time traveller get the result for me will you.
 
Finals is at stake of course this builds the nerves.

Especially since we have been in the wilderness a while.
 
its been so good walkin round in my north gear now not getting any more giggles.
Opposition supporters just starting to realise we are around the mark.
Only hope we beat the dons so the whole dam comp will have to give us a little respect.
If we get beat it will be the back to same old same old.
 
Essendon are an outside chance only if we play the footy we played against Richmond, Melbourne and Dogs.

They are NO chance if we play the footy we played against Adelaide, StKilda and Carlton. NONE!

We will have to play poorly to lose this. If that happens then there are blokes in the side that don't have the hardness to play finals.
 
No better team to knock out of a finals race then the dons!!

I really think that we were just getting the job done against the bullies and dees.

I reckon we have been eyeing this game for a while and will come out accordingly.

We know they will come out breathing fire.

We need to come out angry.

This time, the only thing the final siren will kick off is the North club song. Essendon mass exodus at 24.45min 3rd term.
 
I was very uneasy about this game the whole week, but for whatever reason, I am now much more confident and comfortable. Not sure why.
 
Yeh I'm still nervous. Stomach churning just waiting for this game.

As for LGK's post, Essendon always come out firing in the opening rounds of the season.
 
It's a great test for the group, they must learn to be able to go into a game as favourites and win as expected. If they dont get over this, then its going to be an uneasy next few years as we climb up the 8.

Their only hope is to come flying out of the blocks and trying to hang on.

We around the mark at halftime and we will smash them.

The only problem will be listening to the complaining of the bumber fans, they drive me to drink.
They want every single free kick

I reckon it would. We wouldn't have won the game of course, but given the way we started, I'd say if Buddy wasn't playing, we may have lost by no more than 8 goals or less, which is a huge difference to 115 points.
 
I hope the boys want to play finals as much as we want them to, as they are more then capable. Anything could happen this week and the run into the finals, nothing is certain especially this year. I just I hope we continue to build on this momentum and if we win 3 games more this year then we will be a threat in finals.
90% of what happens in this game is above the shoulders.
