JJK has a tough run home. I'm looking elsewhere

Giants and Crows is a tough way to end the season, but before that he has Carlton at Domain, Saints at Etihad, Brisbane at Domain, Pies at Etihad and Freo at Domain.

As you said the forward selections will be make or break.

I'm locking Wines in at (hopefully) $500k in round 10 after his bye

He'll be my 7th mid keeper. I'll grab my final one after the first main bye round
Was thinking the same... but rd6 put me off
Although he had many other premo spud buddies in rd6

Nank's suspension is a bit of a blessing; with a BE of 90, the week off keeps his price stable through R9 ... when I have a RUC cover decision based on Ryder's bye & Preuss (maybe) not playing.

If I need to make a swap, he can fill R2 or F4/5 pretty comfortably.

I'm definitely jumping on a Power (or Suns) player after round 10 too, just so handy to have over the byes. As long as Wines bounces back, it'll be him, but a Wingard that seems to be getting more mid time could be an interesting possibility.

Heard someone on here or fanfooty say that they read an article about Hinkley planning to move Wingard back up forward soon....

****ing Hinkley. Probably drop another tall and bring in a little runner while he's at it.

24 trades left for 6 spots which should leave 11/12 spare.
On top of that I have Nank, Chad & Sandi which may have to be sidewaysed later on in the year.

Backs - 3 spots left:
Doc - I'll happily use an extra trade/wait an extra week/pay any price to fit him in ASAP
Daylight
Shaw, Simpson, Montagna

Mids - 1 spot left:
Bont or Sloane - See Docherty

Fwds - 2 spots left:
Roo & Punchable Pumpkin. If I'm feeling riskaaay I may go the Yeo.

How does everyone still have this many trades for such little amount of needed upgrades?
20 trades left after this round with 680K in the bank. My current plan is:
R8: Bont
R10: Wines and Tom Lynch
R12: JPK and Docherty
R13: Rance
R14: Greene and Williams
Would leave me with 2 upgrades left to go. Both up forward.
Not sure who will complete my forward line and defence, anyone got any options? Honestly looking at Buddy, at 444k he is cheap(Roughhead + 100 will easily get it done) and if the Swans can start to hit some form around round 10-11 Buddy should still be cheap enough to cost nothing more than Roughhead + 100k. Heeney is another option there.
Apart from these guys there really seems to be a dearth of forward options. Roo is the obvious choice, I personally don't see Nank averaging over 80 for the rest of the year after he starts facing some proper tap ruckmen, Tex is a KPF, Higgins and Yeo are both on the never again list.

Docherty and Pendles are the two targets I have at this stage and the rest will take care of itself. Happy with 16 of my current list. Upgrading them will be luxury upgrades when required.

D: Docherty, ???, (Shaw, Laird, Adams, Lloyd)

M: Pendles, ???, (Bont, Danger, Jelwood, Fyfe, Titch, Treloar)

R: ???, (Sandi)

F: ???, (Dahl, Marcae, Nank, Buddy, Steele)

Could look at 2E depending on how he goes? I regretfully traded him out a while back for SP Murphy but i may bring him in again if his form is good.

With Beams injured I have traded him to Docherty so still need 2 defenders, 2 mids and 1 forward (if Steele ends up as a premo)

Only 20 trades left!

Great side. You will be full premo in no time. I'm also considering Sandiwitts and Steele as solid 22 players. Our sides are near identical. Major difference is you have Docherty, Pendles and Yeo where I've got Lloyd, Selwood and Buddy. Plus I've got few more trades left. Will be following your upgrades closely as I've also got 2,2,0,1 to fill. To maximize my scoring during the byes I need Docherty, Pendles, JJK and a midfielder and defender from either Port or GC. After that I can think of getting Gawn if he returns and is in form.

Cheers mate.

I might look at getting a midfielder in next.

Wouldn't mind a round 12 mid so looking at a bottomed out Dusty next week.

I will probably grab Lloyd for my backline too, he looks great.

Happy with my rucks to be the last line I look at upgrading if at all.

Who from Port and Gold Coast are you looking at?

They would be handy for the byes....

With Heath Shaw picked up this week, that leaves just 2 DEFs and 1 FWD to upgrade.

Round 8: Macrae
I want a sure thing and Macrae looks the most consistent forward at the moment. Yeo seems to have higher potential but I don't like his downside. Heeney is a much cheaper, equally tempting pick up too.

Round 9: Stef Martin or Grundy - time to start thinking about rucks,

Beyond that, maybe sideways trading/upgrading one or both of Kelly and Oliver. Dustin Martin will be an interesting target, his 53 this year is the lowest score between the three players but his upside is noticeably larger (those 150s). He is going to be hard to ignore when he enters that ~$520k price range. I really like Tom Mitchell's consistency too.

Two DEFs and 1 FWD after that. Kind of really want Tom Lynch.
