What, have you been listening to the messages left on brianspeaking's answering machine? Or just smoking what he smokes? Why would Xavs want McKee? Not even sure it's him.

Maybe because it'll be their only chance to beat SKOB's this year seeing as they've been relagated!

Or they just want to add to their collection of hasbeens!

Have a mate who is back playing for Myrtleford and he is driving up with McKee each week for the games. It is definitely McKee (100%) at Xavs training but it doesn't mean anything. Bone Richardson is apparently buddies with the coach or someone from Myrtleford and asked Bones if the 5 or so Myrtleford players could train there during the season. Xavs had no problem with it.... It is only clowns who lack maturity like brianspeaking that get jealous about this sort of thing.

From Todays Age

Japanese players Tsuyoshi Kase and Michito Sakaki, who have spent the pre-season training with Essendon, manned up on one another and Sakaki got plenty of the ball. They will play for St Bernard's this year and will also be put on the Bendigo Bombers' list.

Bulleen Cobras are in D4 section of the VAFA and are located at Koonung Reserve.

Finished 2nd in D4 last season, but went out of the finals in straight sets.

Will be obviously looking for an improved effort with a view to avenging their losses and to secure promotion into D3 in 2007.

Does anyone know how much will the introduction of VSU this year hurt amateur clubs associated with Victorian Universities, like Uni Blues and Uni Blacks? I know a few people behind the scenes at Monash clubs that were filthy when VSU was passed. I would assume that Student Union Amenities fees would be a substantial source funding for all of these clubs.

I also saw that the Whitehorse Pub in Hawthorn (a major sponsor of Swinburne) has been levelled recently due to an inability to pay land taxes.

Seems the State and Federal governments are both out to f**k amateur clubs in one way or another.

Not sure how much funding the clubs get from amenities fees, but I know when I was at Monash, about 3% went to sporting clubs & facilities, and the Blues' cut from that would've been pretty slim. Might be in the region of $10K to $20K though. Perhaps others more 'in the know' might be able to enlighten us.

I'm impressed you'd managed to create a link between VSU (to which I'm also opposed) and and intention to screw amateur football clubs. I thought there might've been some higher level principles and considerations involved!!Can't recall that being mentioned in the Second Reading Speech but perhaps I missed it? :D

To this day it still irritates me that the Services and Amenities fee went towards Uni Blues/Blacks, communist party posters and protests, the queer lounge, socialist left party etc, and similar free loading freaks who are in the 15th year of their part time Arts degree, majoring in wasting taxpayer's money.

Yet when I wanted to do a ******** at Uni, the toilets were so filthy I simply had to go home, tutorial rooms were smelly and unclean and other facilities simply not up to standard for the use of the "majority" of students.

I think the amenities fee should have been used for just that, amenities for all students, not just condoms for homo's and other disenfranchised, weed smoking, dreadlocked freaks.

If the queer clubs and Uni footy clubs need $$, perhaps they should check their own pockets like the other Amateur clubs do and pay their subs and attract sponsors. With the facilities provided for them, what are their expenses??? (Uni Blacks allegedly have a hefty player wage bill!)

Work is they go pretty good, one of them had about 16 touches in that scratch match.

Yeah but he played on the other Jap, so effectively he played on nobody.

I think VAFA reserves coaches should have their eyes out for these blokes.

More like the senior coaches.

One is more advanced than the other. The better player is playing in the practise match against Sydney on the weekend. Very Peter Bell like, onball and up forward.

The other guy has trained a few times with St Bernards already.

Why is it that the VAFA continue to mess around with registrations whilst other leagues continue to get players signed up. I checked the EFL website and find a number of VAFA players moving to EFL clubs (including Whitefriars captain Matthew Power going to join another VAFA stalwart Bernie Dineen) but not one going the other way?? I hear all these clubs recruiting players from various leagues but all I see is a paperwork (sorry, computer training) blocking clubs getting players registered.

C'mon Sholly, extract the digit and help out clubs get players on their list early rather than change the rules for registrations/reinstatements or the process every year:confused:

With respect SOAG, the only paperwork which is affecting players leaving the VAFA for suburban gigs is the paper which folds and ends up in your wallet.

The EFL always gets players registered early (e.g. there are several Bulleen-Temp and Marcellin players already registered for Templestowe). I think the nature of our competition is such that players don't need to indicate an early burning desire to play by getting registered because they don't have to sign contracts for remuneration as they do in the suburban leagues. The EFL has traditionally had problems with clearances for some players (particularly from country leagues) and is red hot on providing clearance information.

Having said all that, the new VAFA system is up and running as of yesterday, so any registration secretary who is on the ball will have all his new recruits logged in over the next couple of weeks. I know I will ;)

Scribe,

Will the general public be able to see a list of all players from all clubs who are seeking to come and go from the Ammos, as in the WRFL and the EFL.

So Scambler is leaving Blues and going home to play at Birchip for $1k a game. Fair enough I say, but apparently the Blues are far from happy, don't know what their problem is though, they make a big driving point of it being a 'country club' with 70% of its players from the country, then they should have no problem with the boy going home to play footy, as I 'm sure he wont be going back to the Mallee for the entirety of his football career.

Sorry Max - can't recall exactly what they said about it at our training session, but you may be right.

At this stage, we've had our current playing lists uploaded by the VAFA and we can now lodge new registrations (recruits and U19s) immediately, with the signed paperwork to be sent through to HQ soon thereafter.

However, all playing lists can only be accessed by those with the code and password for your club, so it may not be possible to view all transfers. Wish I could've been more helpful, but if I find out the answer, I'll post it here.

Its all starting to fall apart for the Blues... the good days are over i think. Wont be long until they fall back with Scotch and just make up the numbers.

The forum has been a bit quiet of late. Any major news to report? I have heard through the grapevine the NOBSPC will be hard to beat.

There was a VAFA meeting held in Salvador, Brazil last night. Some big names present including Alphonse, Skurrie, some guys from AJAX (never met someone from AJAX before) and Hutch. It was decided that it would be good to see St Bernards relegated.

Yes the Blues might only get one flag for their good work over the past few years. Last year's GF capitulation will haunt them forever and a day.

And I must agree with Homer101, it's ridiculous of Blues to crack the sh*ts when a player goes home. The North Central league clubs have been splashing the cash like there is no tomorrow (refer raiding of Wimmera FL clubs) and young James would be a fool to pass up one large a game to play for his home club. Shame on the Blues for condeming this sort of move. I applaud Scamber for going home to make difference in country footy (ok and earn a handsome sum) and I wish him well.

Lastly great to hear from Alphonse. As well as the Snow Dogs lets hope Blues get relegated as well.

Nice to see you back Alphonse. Yes it appears NOBSPC will be hard to beat this year. The word is that they have managed to get rid of some of their dead wood from the playing list and that this will help them no end. On the social front they have finally removed the bloke who ran that dreadful cocktail night a few years ago, so things are looking up for them.

Re the Salvador meeting, have you seen any likely types to recruit in terms of both players and "female support staff"?

Where is the next Sth American VAFA meeting to be held. How is Oggy holding up?

Uni Blues are a rabble. Word is some of players and senior officials are not happy with coach. major fallout on the horizon

Very funny. Uni Blues aren't like any other club in the Amateurs. As most of the players didn't originate from one of the big private schools, they don't have a born to rule mentality where they lose the plot because of a GF loss. The Blues could go through a season winless and still be the most cohesive unit running around.

Let me ask you this. Are you from Old Scotch? Are you jealous of Uni Blues' success over the last couple of years?
