Passed away 13 January aged 93. He must have been one of the club's oldest surviving players until then.

After short stints with Richmond and Melbourne, he played three seasons with Moorabbin in the VFA as their full-forward. In 1957 he was cleared to North and played for four seasons before returning to Moorabbin for one more year. For most of his time at Arden Street he had to share the full-forward position with John Dugdale. Still he was North's leading goalkicker in 1959 with 47 goals. He played in North's two finals matches in 1958. He took a particular liking to South Melbourne, kicking 10 goals against them in a Night Series match in 1959, and 8 against them in Round 15 1960.

In 1957, Peter started at North Melbourne, winning Best First Year Player. He found a home at the club, citing that the club gave him time to prove himself. And prove himself he did, he was part of North’s finals run in 1958, in 1959 was awarded third place in the Coleman medal and held the record for most goals kicked in a night series game – 79 goals.

After retiring from North Melbourne, Peter turned to coaching. At 38-years-old, he became a ‘player-coach,’ taking out the premiership and scoring the most goals in the game.

Today, Peter is still in touch with North Melbourne and for his 91st birthday they brought him out onto the ground. The whole crowd sang ‘Happy Birthday’. Peter says this meant a lot to him.

Sad news for his family. Some NM specific content above.

Peter must have been more than a handy footballer in his day.

Averaging 3.5 goals a game as a teenager in his first season is a fair sign he was talented.

The highlight from his stats would be his 6 goal effort at Victoria Park in 1958 against eventual premiers, Collingwood.

We came from behind at 3 quarter time to win that game.

He would have made a few Pie supporters unhappy that evening.

RIP

Fitzroy beat us in rd.1 at Arden st by 20 goals, yet we knocked them off in the 1st semi by 4 points. We also knocked of the Pies twice that season.
Some handy names in the side too Masked 👍
