A phenomenal rock star lived harder than most. By the age of 17 he was one of the biggest stars on this planet a hell of a frontman the likes of which may never be seen again such energy and character. Easybeats at their height were as good as the Beatles Kinks and Stones imo and his huge comeback hit evie on of the greatest rock medleys of all time. thank you Little Stevie and may you rock with all the greats at the greatest gig in the sky

So true and such a pity he couldn't handle the trappings of his success.

Lunchtime school discos in the mid 60s and the records of choice were by the Easybeats. They showed we could compete with the big British bands (although pretty much the whole of the band were migrants). I still remember the farewell tv special on Ch 7, The Easybeats Coca Cola Special, before they ventured off to try their luck in the Old Dart and Stevie was, as always, the star.

Very sad, this is just like when we Boomers lost Thorpey.

Have been listening to stevies "hard road" album repeatedly on Spotify,
what a classic and i bet that it is out of print too. Also black eyed bruiser is that in print? Anyone know if there have been or are any planned tributes for Stevie its all a bit too quiet for the passing of someone of his stature in aussie music
