I remember Waters playing down back in the 1960s. He used to take these marks a la jeremy mcgovern. I used to like him and Ted Potter who always gave darryl baldock a run for his money. It wasnt until decades later that i found out that he originally played with the pies as a full forward, and he moved because of the arrival of mckenna. I just had a look and he was listed as back pocket in the 66 grand final even though mckenna wasn't playing. Ian Graham was at full forward. I can't remember but did BF hammer bob rose for not moving him down forward? Sad to see he died from cancer. He deserved a painless death. Remembering him through my childhood eyes, i still think of him as a soild fair footballer who always played the game in the right spirit.
I always felt like we could stop anybody when we had Waters and Potter in defence. Shit I miss those days. So sad that Terry has passed. Rest in peace.I remember Waters playing down back in the 1960s. He used to take these marks a la jeremy mcgovern. I used to like him and Ted Potter who always gave darryl baldock a run for his money.
