Ah, but what makes you so sure that the coaches didn't take him off to have him fresh for the last 15 minutes of the game when its going to be a huge battle of wills and where fresher legs will be very important.I thought the same thing. You would be naive to think a midfielder can run out every minute of the game but c'mon, sometimes clubs do go overboard with the rotations. He came off 3 minutes into the third quarter. Surely you can't be buggered after 3 minutes.

You keep him on for 15 minutes, he is pretty much buggered in the final stages of the game. Take him off earlier and you have an ace up your sleeve.
Its not as simple as you and Drummond make it out to be. There is a lot more to rotations than just coming off when you are spent. Its a tactical tool.
But then again, it would have been a match up thing, or trying to exploit a match up. Maybe his opponent got dragged and VB went to the bench as well to come back on when his opponent comes back on.Yeah I realise that Stif. But surely a rotation of 3 minutes is going a little overboard. How spent can you get in 3 mins. Leave him off for the first 10 minutes or so and then let him run out the second half of the quarter, or vice versa.
I know i'm being pedantic but some of the rotations clubs make are bordering on stupidity.

There are a lot of reasons players get rotated on and off the bench and at different times.
