Only caught the end of a news update but I am sure it said he won't be in full training to 2010

New problem or still his back if its still his back that is a bit of a concern

Yeah, he's not expected back to full training until middle-late January.

Long story short his injury has not been healing as quickly as expected despite VB doing everything right, so he's a bit behind schedule. But VB is as professional as they come and you can bet he'll be doing everything to keep himself fit in the meantime.

No doubt he will maintain fitness but it is a bit of a worry to still be troubled by a back injury hope it ain't hamstring related

Why rush an ultra fit guy into PS and risk a back injury. His fitness base will still be fine and his back will be better for the wait.

My concern is, this is 4 months old now and for me that's a bit concerning

If it concerns you, what do you think it does to VB??

Bad backs are a real bastard, because there's no set rule in how quickly or how long they take to come good. You would presume that VB's is a disc related issue gooing by the length of time it's lasted, and they're not fun.

My first concern is that VB shakes it off altogether, however long that takes, before trying to come back, otherwise it could become a recurrent injury, and nobody wants that.

Being a Norwood supporter I remember Michael Aish (I'm showing my age a bit) having a similar problem with his back & he had to give up footy a lot earlier than he wanted, apparently it gave him a lot of discomfote. I only hope that technology on backs has improved some what.
