Very interesting, possibly the right way to go. I guess Vlad's sick to death of broadcasting empty stadiums when Norf play Port / Fremantle and such.

Wonder if the minnow clubs whose members just shelled out for memberships, could have gone to the games cheaper now...

Also, we don't historically draw crowds to games like

Saints @ Etihad, R4
Bulldogs @ Etihad, R6

so I wonder if the tickets will now be cheaper?

Very interesting. Let's face it, a fuller stadium creates better atmosphere, and resulting in a better experience, resulting in a desire to possibly attend again. Surely the stadium(s) are going to cost the same to open in terms of staff, security, cleaners, chefs etc, so filling seats at a cheaper price is going to be better financially than not filling it at all (obviously).

I wonder if something similar will be adopted to Adelaide Oval for Port, once the hysteria of a new stadium wears off.

I haven't seen the normal prices for this year, but I know for AFL members, guest passes are only $30 for category C games (which would be anything under 50k). I would think that would mean they are cheaper than that in the Public areas.

I always found Etihad to be cheap as it was, I remember barely paying $10 as a concession two or three years ago for seats in the GA area.
