I hate to say it because he is a legend of the club but Fyfe was a ******* liability and it's not for the first time recently. Holds the ball far too long and gets pinged holding the ball, tries to hold his delivery until the perfect option appears...it doesn't. Kicks standard set shots directly in front out on the full, takes running shots on goal... out on the full.

To be fair there were about 4 different goal kick attempters with piss easy shots on goal that all missed, but gee Fyfe was a liability.
I wish sportsbet allowed you to punt on how many HTB calls went against Fyfe. Mind you, the odds would be about as generous as a Winx win

I started working in a new job on Monday for a company that is a West Coast sponsor.
Perfect opportunity for sabotage. I did the design for the Toast website back in 2002 or so and the header image was of the demolition derby. Nobody noticed.

The level of institutionalised ineptitude it takes to rebuild for nearly 10 yrs , hardly miss any draft picks and still have a team half full of shittrucks is truely remarkable

Hats off to all who have contributed to our amazing legacy over many many years

Sturt over Bobby Hill. Erasmus over Wanganeen-Milera.
Our drafting has been pretty good overall but those 3 are howlers given they are all exactly what this team is crying out for.
Those 3 and we're a top 4 team.

We would have traded them out by now if we had drafted them. Only the spuds survive.

It's not HTB against him, it's he holds it for too long and the only option left is no one or a oppo player who he passes it to. He had 7 turnovers (game high) and 10 clangers (game high).

Reminded me of a couple of years ago when he was trying to play when not fully fit.
Can only hope it was the circumstances of yesterday & it hasn’t broken him mentally again. He was so good against the Dogs.
I feel sorry for him, he’s too intelligent/sensitive in ways that seem to profoundly affect his ability at times.
Guys like Dusty that have had major struggles off field seem to be able to switch off & get in the zone in the high stakes situations. Fyfe can’t seem to get out of his own head out there at times.

And a genuine vent about the Swans supporters sitting near us who laughed hysterically and made sarcastic comments every time Fyfe screwed up last night. One in particular was delighting in ridiculing him & a few other players. Not tarring all the Swans fans who were obviously loving watching their team play so well. Just a small group of insensitive, cruel young men who had no consideration for the circumstances.

And the drunk yob who staggered up to us outside after the game asking if we were going to the “Cas” and when my mate said no we hate the casino, followed us yelling we were probably going to “Connections” as we were obviously (insert homophobia) if we didn’t like the “Cas”.

Really put the icing on a sad night.

He tried to do too much. He wanted to be the hero after what happened earlier.
He wasn’t right mentally. He gets a pass.

The Dardy news weighed heavy on a lot of the boys last night. It looked like the entire team tried to do too much to prove a point, make a statement etc and ended up just stuffing 90% of it up with most of that being shots at goals and passes inside 50

I’ve never seen a team struggle so much offensively quite like Freo. This isn’t a new problem either, it’s been like this since Ross was appointed 12 years ago, and we still haven’t fixed it.

When you look at our forward line it’s pretty bleak. Amiss is probably the only genuine A-grader and he’s been down on form this year. Treacy is a battler who’s only just starting to come good now. Switta, Freddy and Emmett are great pressure forwards but offer nothing else and all 3 fail to have any scoreboard impact regularly. Jackson isn’t a forward. Banfield has 1 good game every 2 months, he’s WAFL quality. Sturt is likely going to be delisted, if JL isn’t going to play him then we can’t keep justifying wasting a list spot on him. Walters and Taberner are finished. Voss has played 2 games so it’s way too early to judge.

Then you got the mids who also are just completely void of offensive prowess. Brayshaw, Serong, Fyfe, Johnson, Young and O’Meara have combined for 9 goals this year. Compare that to Sydney’s midfield, Heeney/Warner/Gulden alone have combined for 32 goals this year. It’s damning.

It’s been our one glaring problem for a long time and we’ve yet to address it.

Don’t worry about Fyfe, JOM, they will be gone soon.
So there is 2 positions that need to be filled.
Then you have the rumour of Switta.
Ironically NOD was kicking goals in 22.
If JLo doesn’t address the issue he is gone.
Swans talls are young, so their midfield know the score.

I forgot about NOD. He showed potential in 2022, consistency was an issue but at least he showed some natural forward craft, but even he hasn’t been able to break into the team for the last 2 seasons. You’d think this is his last season to show something too, just like Sturt.

JL’s had 5 seasons to fix this now and hasn’t. I don’t have much faith in him to even attempt to do anything about it.

Our talls are young too, but McDonald looked a mile ahead of both Amiss and Treacy last night in terms of development.

Everyone said the last few years that Melbourne have no forwards.
We are Melbourne on steroids.
Have we got the worst forward line in the comp? It’s definitely bottom 4 anyway. It’s worse than the eagles for sure, which is quite an achievement given how s**t they have been.
