all you bf posters who still think trading tex is a brilliant idea (especially for shit for brains didak) should take a good hard look at yourselves!!

walker=gun

I watched most of the 1st half. Walker seemed pretty intent on taking mark of the year. did he snare it in the 2nd half.

Also didak is a flog. No thanks.

Even if he doesn't take them, it'll be fantastic for Eddie Betts when he comes back in. Rotate Cloke and Kreuzer through there and you've got a great little group there.

Geez, wasn't expecting to see a thread with this title tonight....:D

But yeah, Walker isn't going anywhere :thumbsu:

He looked genuinely dangerous down there today and even got himself a nice 3 goals.

lol... it's my first thread on the carlton board, so i needed something snappy to grab everyones attention:D

but coming back from injury...-everyone expects miracles from the lad-....

...next year he'll be a gun, with full preseason.

...by the way heard his after match interview on sen...saying he wants to eventualy slot back into the midfield as a starter.....imo leave him where he is now...although rotating him with murphy automaticaly gives further depth to our midfield and forward line:thumbsu:

Ironic that the only time he grabs one was in his sole game in the Ants for three years, the week after returning from a shoulder.

I love Walker - hopefully he actually holds one at AFL level, but regardless, great to see him playing some good footy. Loves the contest and attacks the ball and the opposition with as much intent as anyone in the side. Much prefer to see him up forward/through the midfield rather than down back, where he can make better use of that aggression, but the beauty of the beautiful man (starting to sound like Hughesy talking to Judd...) is that he is versatile and can play just about every position on the ground.

I second this. Didak was never a gun, just a bloke who got on the highlights for kicking flukey goals every now and then. He's probably "not a great bloke" either

BS. Didak IS a gun. He's a matchwinner, he's consistent, and he's very very talented. Yes, he's definitely a tool of a bloke, and I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot cattle prod, but don't belittle his talents. We'd love to have someone of his skill on our forward flank.

Tex hasn't really shown anyone why he was taken at #2 overall yet. He just hasn't. But so much of that has been due to injuries and not getting decent presseasons. He's still young, and he's a very exciting prospect. Looks like he'll make a great flanker, be it back or forward, with explosive pace and athleticism. He's like a free recruit to our team, and a highly-regarded one at that.

Seems like he could have found a role that suits him up forward, and he'll add pace and X-factor to our forward line.

And yes, he'll definitely take mark of the year one of these days...

Regardless of how good a footballer Didak is, he is a dog and we should not take him. We do not need that influence on our developing culture.

As much as I loved Walker's game on the weekend, I thought too many times we had 2-3 players going for the mark and nobody roving. With Kreuzer/Cloke and Fev down there I would have thought the team thing to do for Tex would be to stay small and rove in the absence of Eddie. Still great to watch, but I rather the team game more the the individual. Will cost us against North otherwise. Will also be interesting with Eddie back. Hopefully Fish kicks straight this week!!!

I don't think many people want Tex to be traded, i for one mentioned that if Carlton are serious about a Kerr or Brown or Didak than players like Bentick, Fisher, Cloke, Edwards aren't going to be sneezed at and you would have to come to the party with a gun e.g Walker or a Waite.

For the record i don't want Tex to be traded and i don't think he will be, he looks as if he can strengthen our forward line massively, however he has the appeal as the type of player that you could see be involved in a trade if particularly Kerr or Brown choose Princes Park as a destination of choice.

Stupid thread really, no need to start it.
