The match day report against Adelaide's Bernie Vince for charging Port Adelaide's Chad Wingard was assessed. Wingard has the ball passed to him by a team mate and is jumping to mark.

Vince comes to the contest from the side as Wingard is completing the mark and his arm makes contact to the Port Adelaide player's chest, before sliding up the body to make high contact.

 After viewing all available footage, speaking to the umpire who laid the report at the time and receiving a medical report from the Port Adelaide Football Club, it was the view of the panel that Vince's action was not a striking action. No further action was taken.

Wasnt all that hard a hit, but was he reported for charging, or for striking?

Many players have been done for less than that

Not fussed, looked bad initially but after seeing it a few times it was borderline. His elbow initially made contact much lower than where it slipped up to.

I'm sure if Chad was spitting blood off the ground Vince would have got games. Impact must have been less than we thought.

I'm happy for it to be cleared, we complain the game is getting to soft. Chad wasn't injured he got the 50 and goal to ice the game, that is enough. Plus B Vince playing in his form is punishment enough for the Crows :)

The MRP is a joke.

It is ridiculous to judge based on the extent of injury to the victim rather than the actions and intentions of the perpetrator.

It's like saying. I know you shot at a cop but it only grazed him and he is fine so on your off scott free.

Anyway, who cares, move on. He probably won't be playing with the Crows next week anyway after those short steps.

If we did that to one of their precious boys they would have dobbed to ensure we would've gotten weeks

Yeah they love to dob.

The MRP actually seems to be allowing football hits to go again this season. Yeah it was a 50m but that's it, cost his team a vital goal and that's punishment enough. Obviously if he'd seriously hurt him then he'd have probably been done for some weeks.

Can any of the video magicians on this board get us a short clip of the incident and replay?

I felt certain at the ground after seeing the replay that there was arm to face.

Log into the PAFC website - they have video of all the goals and show 'that bump'. Worth 50m but surprised the report was apparently for striking rather than charging.

More a reflection on the tingle's player than anything else.

And it should only ever have been a 50.

Cost the Camrys a goal and knowing one of their "heroes" is a dead set squib so punishment enough.

I suppose the right decision was made on what actually happened, but I'm pretty damn sure we all know what Vince was trying to do, especially after that squib minutes earlier...

That's weird you can clearly hear the ump saying he's reporting him for charging twice in the video?
