Visual Basic Programming

Does anyone here know how to program in Visual Basic.

I'm good with HTML, but I have very limited knowledge in VB, and i'm trying to help my son, who is doing a software design course, and they are using VB as their language.

He's doing allright, but he's still having some problems, and i was hoping i could help him out. But i will probably need some help from other people, so i can help him.

I know QBasic inside and out, but after trying to learn Vbasic ... gave up following many days of getting nowhere ...
